It's very nice to write about something that no one else has written about before. As they call it, exclusive. And when the exclusive is multiply charged …

In general, we were fortunate enough to become the first journalists who entered the territory of one of the electronic warfare brigades in the Western Military District. And "feel", which is no less pleasant, really the newest complexes.

The hero of our today's reportage is the "Moscow-1" complex.

So far, there are not many of them, but by the end of this year the number of these complexes should be 10 units. The approximate cost of one complex is about 350 million rubles.

What is "Moscow"?

The complex consists of three components based on KamAZ vehicles.

1. Power plant.

2. Module of electronic intelligence RER 1L265.

Designed for search, detection, direction finding, measurement of parameters and tracking of air sources of radiation operating in the radio frequency ranges UHF, L, S, C, X, Ku.

3. Automated control point for jamming stations 1L266.

Designed for determining coordinates, tracking air sources of radiation by the triangulation method, automated planning of tasks for the combat use of electronic warfare systems.

Planning missions for combat use means not only determining the coordinates of air targets, but also determining the characteristics of targets with subsequent classification and assignment of importance.

If translated into a more understandable language: "Krasuha", for example, is capable of detecting a certain aerial target. Determine in what range a given target emits, and suppress the electronic components of this target. Completely.

However, this is acceptable in the case when the goal is single, or there are two or three of them.

In the event of a massive appearance of targets, it is unambiguously necessary to recognize these targets, determine the sequence of working out on them and issue target designations for jamming stations.

If, for example, targets appear in the control zone that correspond in characteristics to two fighters, four fighter-bombers and two cruise missiles launched by the crew of a strategic bomber. It is the calculation of the Moskva complex that should determine who should be worked out in the first place, and issue the appropriate target designation to the jamming station or to the air defense systems that can work with Moskva in a single link.

The range of the "Moscow" is 400 kilometers, the viewing angle is 360 degrees. The complex is capable of simultaneously setting tasks for 9 controlled electronic warfare or air defense systems.

In principle, we can say with confidence that "Moscow" is the next stage in the development of the AKUB-22 complex, which has been in service with our electronic warfare forces for quite a long time. “Moskva” is more of a granddaughter than a daughter. AKUB-22, with all its positive features, is analog and somewhat … cumbersome.

But let's move on to visualizing "Moscow".

Here are two of the three modules. The RER module was not released for deployment for an obvious reason. The presence of journalists. This is quite understandable and justified, no one canceled the secrecy.

In general, unlike the same "Krasukha", "Moscow" does not look so epic. There is no automatically deployed antenna unit and other special effects. And cars are difficult to distinguish from others. Kung is like kung.

Power plant. A complex stomach, if you will.

In general, everything looks rather modest and unprepossessing. Maybe even boring, in comparison with the same "Krasuha", if you do not know the essence.

Hydraulic legs. With their help, the module can stand on the ground, the car leaves from under it and drives off 30-100 meters to the side. For example, in the nearest ravine. An unpleasant surprise for a potential adversary if he intends to launch a rocket, focusing on the residual heat of the engine.

And if we take into account the fact that "Moscow" works passively, that is, according to the received signal, or according to the data received from other stations, then we can say that it is a completely invisible control point.

We go inside.

There, too, a lot of things were missing from the kit, and it's great, otherwise they would simply not let us inside. The officer accompanying us carefully looked over the "giblets" and allowed the filming. But not for long, because in the end we will have to come from the test site, and still put the missing one.

Communication section. Don't be surprised by the presence of a car radio, it is not here for the entertainment of the calculation. Although you can listen to music, the fundamental purpose of an FM radio receiver is somewhat different.

This is how operator workplaces look like. Chairs, by the way, are very comfortable, with adjustable backs and armrests, soft. I tried it out. Only I could not take a picture, they did not climb into the lens, because they were welded to the floor. But - they rotate around their axis.

In general, everything is done quite nicely, without the usual army minimalism. Smooth corners, smooth surfaces. Although there is something to bump his head about out of habit.

Comrade captain said that everything, from the screw to the monitor, is of domestic production. Monica was raised in St. Petersburg. As an operating system, of course, not "Windows". Something simpler and not afraid of viruses and other troubles.

Here's a little excursion. And it's nice to know that "Moscow" is not tomorrow for our electronic warfare troops. It's already today.
