On the one hand, we are constantly talking about the fact that the number of lawyers in our country trained by these or those universities is prohibitive. This is true: tens of thousands of graduates who are clearly oversaturated the labor market. On the other hand, how many of these tens of thousands of "specialists" are truly trained and trained? - those who are ready to take a position that would guarantee the protection of the rule of law and specifically of Russian citizens. Considering that with the protection of the rule of law, and even more so with the protection of an individual Russian citizen, including the situation abroad, we are far from all right, we can state that there are definitely not enough qualified specialists in the field of jurisprudence.
Russia often has to hire foreign lawyers in numerous cases that have proven themselves in recent years, including litigation over anti-Russian weapons sanctions, gas supplies, or even fake massive use of doping by Russian athletes.
A special area of jurisprudence is the military. This is work with numerous regulatory acts, the creation of a legal framework to ensure the passage of military service by conscription and by contract, work in military courts, prosecutorial bodies, the identification of offenses and crimes in the army - this is just a small list of all that modern military lawyers are responsible for. …
Today, on March 29, specialists of the legal service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation celebrate their professional holiday. It appeared in the general calendar of military holidays in 2006 on the basis of a presidential decree. The purpose of establishing the holiday is the revival and development of domestic military traditions, increasing the prestige of military service. Additional motivation is the recognition of the merits of military lawyers, whose service history dates back to the Peter the Great era.
The prototype of the modern military-legal school in Russia began to take shape virtually simultaneously with the creation of a regular army and navy. In April 1719, Peter the Great ordered to teach 20 young people "the science of auditing." At the same time, for more than a hundred years, training in the skills of military auditing and prosecution was, so to speak, very fragmentary. But during the reign of Emperor Nicholas I, a full-fledged and permanent military-legal educational institution appeared in Russia, which was called the Auditing School. The day of its foundation is November 10, 1832. The decree of the emperor said that the educational institution was created to supply the military land and naval military departments with auditors, "educated in accordance with the duties of this rank." And already less than four years later - on March 29, 1836 - the Nikolaev manifesto appeared on the formation of the staff of the War Ministry. And in this ministry, for the first time in the history of the Russian State, the position of a legal adviser is being introduced.
It is this date that is officially associated with the modern Day of the Legal Service Specialist of the Russian Armed Forces.
Every year, military lawyers, working in close contact with the central bodies of military command, support dozens of bills that in one way or another concern the interests of various categories of military personnel, including those who have gone through local conflicts. Most of the bills go through the parliament of the country and turn into legislative norms.
The participation of military lawyers in training and methodological meetings held in the military districts of the Russian Federation makes it possible to improve approaches to methods for reducing the percentage of crimes and offenses in the ranks of the Russian armed forces.
Today, it is the work of the legal service specialists that makes it possible to achieve a reduction in the level of so-called hazing. At the same time, the prestige of service in the Russian army is increasing. For a whole series of reasons, neustavschina cannot be completely eradicated in the army, but the work that has been done in this direction over the past 10-15 years has become truly unprecedented. And the role was played not only by the decision to reduce the term of conscription to 12 months, but also by the improvement of the skills of military lawyers in the country.
