Such a bad Russian patron …
Such a bad Russian patron …

In the open spaces of one well-known media, we came across an article in which the question was asked: "Why do they scold Russian ammunition, but buy it?" And the issue is discussed there that the Russian cartridge barbarously scratches and wears out the barrels of foreign rifles with a fine mental organization.

And at the same time, we come across an article, translating which, we are surprised to learn that the Americans are really complaining about the Russian patron. More precisely, its deficit in stores. If you believe the statistics, it turns out that in the United States the shortage of our cartridges is measured in millions of pieces.

And it became somehow strange even. Well, the truth is, a bad cartridge is in short supply - this is something strange at all. Or not really.

We will understand a little, if only in order to really answer the question for ourselves: is our civil patron really so bad?

So that's it. We'll probably start with the fact that the same caliber, at best, guarantees a bullet out of the barrel. It is known worldwide that when two objects rub, the softer one wears out. And the fact that foreign rifles are being developed for "their" cartridge and bullet, respectively.

Now a little more theory with numbers.

They say that the whole problem is in the bullet manufacturing technology. Indeed, after the 30s, we switched from cupronickel shell to tombak one.

Recall that cupronickel alloy is an alloy of copper with nickel in a ratio of up to 30% nickel.

Tompak alloy - an alloy of copper and zinc with a content of no more than 10% zinc. Differs in high antifriction properties. Moreover, both alloys have approximately the same hardness.

Now a little about the trunks.

Both domestic and foreign gunsmiths use the technology of chrome plating of the barrel and bolt parts, while reducing wear and improving antifriction qualities. However, the chromium plating resource of the standard AK-74 is about 15 thousand rounds, and the basic version of the AR-15 family rifle ends at 6 thousand.

We will not even compare about the conditions under which the Kalash can function, whether in the military or in the civilian (yeah, find five differences) versions. I'm tired of it.

What is all this for? And here's what.

Remembering the shooting of the material about the Kord ASVK, one should have seen the expression on the face of the owner of the rifle, who was told that today you would shoot anti-aircraft cartridges, aka 7BZ2e.

And there is nothing to be done, such were given out.

And we understand it, since for it (the rifle) there is a separate cartridge called 12, 7x108 with the index 7N34.

But this is if we talk about special-purpose cartridges.

Although I believe that this is the salt of a special purpose, that for a sniper rifle - a sniper cartridge. For an anti-aircraft machine gun - a cartridge with an armor-piercing incendiary bullet.

And there are a huge number of such examples, the variety of cartridges simply cannot be counted.

Suffice it to recall the 5.45x39 7N39, which few people know about, but it exists and was supposed to replace the standard 7N24 BS, but, apparently, until the time has come.

There were enough articles about the assortment of cartridges, cases, calibers and indexes.

What is all this for?

Someone for some reason, for some reason, consciously pushes the idea that we are doing well, but THERE they are doing better, relying on athletes.

Think about it: somewhere in the world, someone does things to kill people better than us. Well, really, laughter makes out, to be honest and serious.

A kind of sphero-conical in a vacuum Athlete immediately appears who wants high accuracy and balanced automation from Bushmaster Firearms International with the reliability and resource of AK.

Because good cartridges are expensive to shoot, and cheap ones are bad (who would have thought).

Using the example of 308 WIN of one of the stores in the network: RWS Target Elite - 450 rubles.

The RWS Target Elite is equipped with extremely accurate HPBT elongated match bullets. Due to the characteristic cavity in the head part and the ideal bullet shape from the point of view of external ballistics, the ammunition has extremely stable aerodynamic properties and the highest accuracy. All cartridges in this series are intended for sporting purposes only, as they are not designed to withstand the controlled mushroom deformation typical of hunting ammunition.

RWS 11, 7 HMK - 187 p.

A feature of the RWS HMK bullet is a jumper in the form of a targeted break point in the middle of the shell. It maintains the separation of the two bullet cores of different stiffness levels and is partially responsible for the double action of this bullet. The front part breaks down very quickly after hitting the body of the game, with a high release of energy.

This guarantees maximum efficiency. The cylindrical tail of the RWS HMK bullet separates in the thread area, pierces even large bodies without significant deformation. As a result of the tail suction effect, the fragments of the front bullet cores mainly leave the body of the game.

The conclusion here is very simple. There have never been any sports patrons in our country, the only difference between the army and the civilian was in the core.

Lead in civilian, steel - in army. Everything is simple, like the machine gun for which the cartridge was invented.

Cartridges for marking PSO, FMJ, etc. is a commercial product for the civilian market. They will not pierce centimeters of steel and fly with sniper accuracy. This is not needed by anyone, except athletes who do not want to spend money on high-precision cartridges. And to build conclusions on their opinion is extremely illogical.

So, if you look at the goals and objectives, we produce quite decent cartridges. No wonder they are not enough in the United States for everyone, not in vain.
