Those shock units that first appeared in the Russian army at the beginning of the 20th century are somewhat different. Many have already expressed their "fairy" about this, but it is just that people have studied the subject of discussion poorly.
Today we are talking about the shock workers of the military competition.
We saw with our own eyes that the competition is very active and made sure that it is really a competition. Military.
Honestly, not as colorful and revealing as "Army Games". Not games, but an ordinary routine. Received the task, completed it, reported.
In order for the unit to receive the rank of shock, tankers, for example, have to go through more than 7 stages, including a pit stop for the T-72B3 tank - checking the performance of the systems and transferring equipment from the traveling position to the combat position, performing test firing exercises with the regular 125-mm round and 30-mm shells (for armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles), as well as driving T-72 B3 and BTR-82A tanks with overcoming a 3-kilometer obstacle course.

The 20th Army, based in the West Military District, has already held such competitions, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the formation.

If the crew of a tank hits three targets with three rounds - is that not worthy of imitation? And if the average hit rate in the company does not fall below 2.5?

If motorized infantry riflemen show excellent results in combat training from time to time?

The pennant is good. And the badge of the excellent student too. But the pennant is a single difference. For a unit or a military university or academy. The sign is personal. And now we will simply propose to consider our understanding of this issue, which differs, say, from the opinion of Mr. Ishchenko from Svobodnaya Pressa, who criticized this idea.

Some other perspectives open up before the soldier of the strike unit, which Major General Peryazev, the commander of the 20th Army, spoke about in an interview with the Guard.
The rank and file of the strike unit will have an advantage over the regular company when they are appointed to sergeant positions. The non-commissioned officers will be more actively promoted to ensign.
Naturally, material incentives, that is, monetary surcharges, will also take place.
In addition, Peryazev noted that the timing of the next vacation for contract soldiers will also be in favor of the shock workers. It is unlikely that a shock company soldier or sergeant will go on another vacation in December or February.
An excellent soldier in a company is good. An excellent / strike company in a battalion is even better.
If behind the rank of a shock company there is an increase in material well-being, then it makes sense not only to win this rank, but also to keep it. Which, accordingly, cannot be an individual merit. This is a team effort.
Here it is worth citing our athletes as an example. Do you remember how the Russian national hockey team, made up of NHL stars, poured everyone out? And as in the last championship, the same team, which was by no means composed of "stars", won medals that the overseas masters could not always get.
It seems. If a company is a well-oiled instrument for performing a task of any complexity, deservedly bears the title of shock, then there is one more thing.
A great company is a good training tool for whom? That's right, young officers. A young but promising lieutenant, having got into such a company, will be able not only to take for himself to the maximum what is possible (and with a good team, a lot becomes possible), but also further transfer the experience gained to other units.
The same applies to sergeants and warrant officers. A person who has achieved some success should share experiences and teach others.
What are we winning? We win the professionalism of the fighters. An important point.
Comrade of the Guard, Major General Periazev, is serious. He sincerely wants the 20th Army, a unit that will celebrate its 75th anniversary next year, to remain in excellent standing in the district. Today the 20th Army is indeed the guardian of our border with an inadequate neighbor. This means that it should only get better.
The idea of holding such competitions for the commander's cup, district cup and so on is not new in itself. But who said that we should take only the worst from our past?
