South Korea has deployed a sentry robot capable of tracking and killing intruders on the border with the DPRK.

In fact, two devices with the functions of observation, tracking, shooting and voice recognition are combined into one system. The robots are equipped with video and audio equipment, heat and motion sensors, as well as machine guns and 40mm cannons. All this cost the military 400 million won ($ 330 thousand).

It is not entirely clear whether the device is capable of opening fire automatically - or if it requires an operator's command.

The robot is installed in the central section of the demarcation zone. If the tests are successful, similar guards will appear throughout the last front of the Cold War.

The South Korean army is almost two times inferior to the DPRK Armed Forces: 655 thousand people against 1.2 million. But the capitalists will soon have robotic infantrymen capable of performing a whole range of tasks, effectively supplementing people on the battlefield.
