Scientists and engineers from the main US defense and industrial contractors, Raytheon, are currently working on a technologically advanced military robotic suit that could help American soldiers in battle.

The team of scientists and engineers is led by Dr. Stephen Jacobsen, who noted that, at its core, the new exoskeleton is a wearable robot that can dramatically increase the strength, agility and endurance of soldiers.

According to Dr. Jacobsen, the robot uses sensors, actuators, and controllers to help the person using it easily carry the other person on their back.

The exoskeleton also allows the soldier to lift a load weighing up to 200 pounds (about 90 kg) several hundred times without fatigue.

"The suit is also flexible enough for the wearer to hit a soccer ball or climb stairs and ramps with ease," the researcher added.
