Most recently, a new Sako TRG M10 sniper rifle was presented, and the rifle is clearly Finnish, but the Beretta company appears in many sources. Either this is some kind of mistake, or Beretta updated the weapon, in general, we will not understand this Santa Barbara, but try to get acquainted with the weapon itself, especially since not just one rifle has been created, but a whole platform with barrels of different lengths and for various cartridges.

Since the characteristics of the weapon are usually lost in the text, we will start not in the standard way, but with the numbers. The weapon is designed for three ammunition, namely 7, 62x51 (.308 Win), 7, 62x63 (.300 Win Mag) and 8, 58x70 (.338 LM). According to these ammunition, there are barrels of length: 408, 510, 602, 656 millimeters; 408, 510, 602, 656 millimeters and 408, 510, 602, 689 millimeters. Magazine capacity, in the same order for ammunition, is 11, 7 and 8 rounds. There are no exact data on the weight of the weapon and the total length.

The rifle itself is a manual reloading weapon powered by detachable box magazines. The buttstock is folding, attached to the pistol grip of the weapon at two points. The buttstock has the ability to adjust its length, as well as the height of the cheek rest. Of course, the weapon was not without plastic and light alloys, but visually everything in moderation and everything in its place. The Sako TRG M10 sniper rifle has four picatinny rail seats, one on the top for sights, two short on the sides and one on the bottom.

Folding, height-adjustable bipods are installed on the lower mount, and it is worth noting separately that the installation location of the bipod can vary along the entire mount, which in some situations can be convenient, for example, when installing an effective silent firing device that will change the balance of the weapon. The rifle does not have open sights, but they can easily be installed on the upper mounting plate, of course, they are not included in the kit. The barrel of the weapon, of course, is free-hanging, as it is clear from the information written above, it can be of different lengths, which justifies the ability of the bipod to move along the mounting bar for more convenient use of the weapon. The rifle magazine is fixed with a button located next to the safety clip, which, on the one hand, saves space and shortens the length of the weapon, but is not very convenient.

It is difficult to assess the rifle yet, since there are practically no reviews about it. In addition, things are complicated by the fact that the weapon has not yet attracted attention, despite the fact that it can use the most popular ammunition. If you find fault with the pictures, then personally it seems to me rather flimsy joints of the butt, all the same, it is planned to use not the weakest cartridges in the weapon, and no matter how it turns out that the butt will become loose after a hundred or two shots. Actually, apart from this, it seems like how to find fault and there is nothing. Given that the weapon was designed on the basis of the TRG-42, it is generally doubtful that there could be any problems with it, since in order to spoil the "bolt" you need to have talent.

If we consider the weapon as a multi-caliber one, then here it is necessary to note several not very successful moments. In particular, when changing ammunition, you will have to change the magazine receiver, as I understand it, since it is quite difficult to achieve universality in this matter with different cartridge lengths and, apparently, the designers did not strive for this. Nothing is known about the method of fastening the barrel of the weapon, which is important in general for a rifle, and not just a multi-caliber base. The ability to use a wide variety of devices pleases, but this is already the norm for modern weapons. In general, I would like to see a larger list of possible ammunition for use, since the one that is available, although good, is very small.

In general, it is too early to draw final conclusions, and indeed any conclusions, since the weapon has not yet shown itself. Perhaps something in the rifle will be changed, the list of ammunition will be replenished, or at least facts about the weapon will become known, then it will be possible to make a full review, while we wait.
