The Turkish company Nurol Makina has developed and manufactured a new member of the Ejder family, the Ejder Yalçin 4x4 tactical armored vehicle. The development of the technical design began in the last quarter of 2012, and the prototype model was presented at the IDEF 2013 exhibition. Serial production of the machine began in May 2014.
Ejder Yalçin has good bullet protection and can be used for a variety of tasks, including reconnaissance, operational control and internal security tasks.
Design
The Ejder Yalçin features a V-shaped body with integrated floating floor sheets and energy-absorbing seats to provide protection against mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The machine features an ergonomic and comfortable seating arrangement for 11 people.
The vehicle is configured to allow the crew to enter and disembark through the doors. Other optional equipment includes a self-recovery winch, day or night vision systems, aft ramp and fire and explosion suppression systems for crew separation.
The vehicle can have various configurations: reconnaissance, operational control, internal security, sanitary, CBRN reconnaissance (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons), weapons installation and combat vehicle. Thus, it can meet a wide variety of customer requirements.
The basic version has a length of 5.42 meters, a width of 2.48 meters and a height of 2.3 meters. Gross weights range from 12,000 kg to 14,000 kg, and the maximum payload is 4 tons.
Armament and self-defense
The vehicle is equipped with optional remote and manual combat modules. It is equipped with two weapon supports located on the roof. Optional armament for the vehicle includes 7.62mm and 12.7mm machine guns, 25mm anti-aircraft cannon and 40mm automatic grenade launcher.
The V-shaped body of the Ejder Yalçin machine offers a high level of protection against IEDs, mines and ballistic threats. The level of ballistic protection can be further increased by installing additional armor; optional lattice screens are offered to protect against missile attacks. Smoke grenade launchers can be installed on the vehicle in order to increase the level of survivability.
Engine and characteristics
The Ejder Yalçin is powered by a Cummins engine with a maximum power of 300 hp. at 2100 rpm. The engine is connected to a fully automatic hydrodynamic transformer transmission.
The machine has a three-speed gearbox and power steering. It is also equipped with an auxiliary pump for the emergency steering system, which is designed to operate in the event of engine failure.
Mobility
The Ejder Yalçin has a top speed of 110 km / h and a range of 600 km. It accelerates from 0 to 40 km / h in six seconds. For all wheels, the suspension is independent with double wishbones. The machine is equipped with transverse and longitudinal differential locks, as well as wide wheels of large diameter. The centralized tire inflation system adjusts the tire pressure according to the road conditions.
The vehicle has a wheelbase of 3100 mm and a ground clearance of 400 mm. It can overcome obstacles with a height of 0.5 meters, ditches with a width of 1, 1 meters and fords with a depth of 0.7 meters. In addition, it can handle 70% inclines and 30% side slopes. The turning radius of the new Ejder Yalçin machine is 7.5 meters.
