The safety of the transport of military and civilian contingents in countries with an unstable situation has become a rather acute issue after the frequent attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan on the personnel of the peacekeeping forces and the civilian population. The use of high-explosive mines has become a serious threat to transport. Against the background of these incidents, the German company "EADS Defense Electronics" again proposed to use for these purposes its own development - the transport armored container "TransProtec". In 2004, the German armed forces have already received 4 such containers for field testing.

TC "TransProtec" is a joint development of the German companies "EADS Defense Electronics" and "Krauss-Maffei Wegmann". The main task was the development and creation of armored vehicles for the movement of twenty people in areas with increased danger. After passing field tests and modifications, the production of TC "TransProtec" began in 2006.

Armored vehicles of the new generation, which are protected from mines and explosives from the bottom, move much fewer people in themselves and are somewhat more expensive than the proposed option for moving people. The armored container has a base from a MAN "Multi 2 FSA" truck, although other bases from trucks are also possible. The container is 20 feet long in accordance with NATO ISO standards. EADS Defense Electronics developed the interior, ventilation system, weapons of mass destruction, electrical installation and support for logistics. Krauss-Maffei Wegmann developed protection against conventional weapons and explosive devices. The armored container itself is equipped with 18 seats, the possibility of climatic use of the container from +55 to - 32 degrees. It is possible to use the TC "TransProtec" in the zones of occurrence of sand storms. Thus, this solution surpasses conventional armored transporters in terms of comfort and convenience, as well as in terms of economic indicators.

Container protective capabilities:

- from the work of a sniper with a Dragunov rifle, caliber 7.62 mm;

- from undermining anti-tank mines in TNT equivalent to 8 kilograms;

- impact of fragments of fragmentation grenades;

- undermining various explosive solutions with TNT equivalent up to 10 kilograms.

The cabin of the container base has protection in the form of superimposed armor. There is an intercom system for communication between the cabin and the container. To enter and exit the container, the designers provided one main and 2 emergency doors. There are 13 bulletproof windows in the container, it is possible to manufacture TK without them. The designers have provided for a modification of the container for transporting the wounded - this option is capable of transporting six seriously wounded and three lightly wounded people, excluding medical personnel and special equipment.

The possibilities of using the container are quite extensive:

- mobile command post;

- item OMS;

- vehicle for valuable equipment;

- medical Center.

Can be used by police and civilian units, non-governmental organizations. Designers pay attention to the fact that to move so many people that the container can accommodate, three infantry fighting vehicles of the Marder 1A5 type are needed. In the armed forces of Germany, this solution is known as "MuConPers", which means a removable container for moving people.
