Recently, the number of deaths of conscripts in the internal military units of the Russian Federation has become more frequent. Recently, stories have died down, which received massive publicity in the domestic media, related to the death and humiliation of conscripts of tank and infantry units. What is the cause of hatred and the cause of conflict situations between colleagues?
In fact, there are a lot of reasons, ranging from racial hatred when members of groups of fascist or nationalist views were hit en masse, to misunderstanding and not accepting everyday life and hobbies, the thoughts of soldiers about sexual contact with colleagues. It is also often possible to see hatred caused by the complex nature of the individual as a whole or by insufficiently developed morale. There are frequent cases of so-called "bullying" when, not adapted, a new soldier finds himself in an alien environment causing the so-called psychological shock, as a result of which he is subjected to "physical punishment", this is not caused by the cohesion of the new fighters and their separation.
Former "young fighters" who have gone through beatings and humiliation from their older colleagues are trying to recoup the newcomers for their grievances and hardships. There are frequent cases of beatings, rape, and just sadism towards young soldiers. It is not uncommon for such cases to remain within a military unit, since each commander does not want a “bad reputation” for his company, which means demotion through the ranks.
All sorts of personal dramas and so-called prolonged depression can also cause death of young fighters. The reason for their occurrence may be letters from a beloved girl with the words that everything is over between them, causing a violent emotional outburst and thoughts about the end of their usual life and unwillingness to accept the new reality. Exhausting physical activity, which is an integral part of military training.
And sometimes the reason is - failure to comply with safety measures when performing work of increased danger at objects, such as warehouses of shells or fuels and lubricants. Also, death (in this case, nothing more than suicide) can be various forms of psychological illness of soldiers, successfully missed by psychiatrists at city assembly points, military enlistment offices, and exhausting beatings and humiliation by old-timers. The punishment for the death of a soldier in peacetime through the fault of an officer corps inspection is, as such, limited to the demotion of the chiefs of military units. Also, the psychological and physical health of young people is often ignored while serving.
But let's not rush to conclusions and understand what is happening in our army. Military service is not a game of chess. Servicemen come into contact with weapons, equipment and other hazardous objects. Explanatory work on safety measures is constantly carried out. But you can't keep track of everyone, we don't have the opportunity to assign a nanny to each soldier. Because of this, various incidents occur. Lack of funding and a small number of professional psychologists in the army also affect. Many recruits cannot withstand the psychological stress due to incompatibility with the team.
Most of the officers serve for a beggarly salary, live in disgusting conditions. As a rule, they come to the service with a bunch of problems and naturally, instead of talking to a professional psychologist who will help with rehabilitation, they often break down on their subordinates. Therefore, the cause of death in the army is not only the human factor, but an outdated and not ideal system. It is urgently necessary to carry out military reform, improve the financial situation of employees, and train professional personnel. We need to be more attentive to the period of adaptation of servicemen.
Do not forget how our media loves to embellish facts and suck stories out of their fingers. The more shocking a story is, the more likely it is to sell it for good money. And what do our people like to read and listen to? Naturally about other people's problems and grief. If we compare the death rate of military personnel in Russia with other countries of the world. It turns out that Russia is far from being in the first place in terms of the number of deaths among military personnel. Then the next question arises: who needs it? Why undermine the country's defenses? Spreading blatantly exaggerated information about ill-treatment and deaths among military personnel.
Let's look at things with our own eyes and not fall for the provocative statements of people who profit from someone else's grief. Yes, our army is not ideal, and this is a fact, but one should not be so panicky to be afraid. Let's hope that the upcoming reforms will correct the mistakes of the past. And in the near future the profession of a soldier will sound not only proud but also prestigious.
