The TR-1 (TR-26) transporter was developed in 1932-1933. students of the Stalin VAMM on the basis of the T-26 tank. The final revision of the project was carried out in the KB of the Sistzmashtrest Pilot Plant named after S. M. Kirov (plant No. 185) in Leningrad. A prototype was manufactured at this plant in the summer of 1933 and from September of the same year to February 1934 was tested at the NIBT proving ground.

The vehicle was designed to carry fourteen paratroopers, who were housed in an armored cabin located behind the iodine-tower box. Liquid-cooled liquid-cooled liquid-cooled Hercules 90 hp carburetor engine. ((56 kW), installed in a single unit with a gearbox and a Hercules main clutch, was located in the middle part of the hull to the left of the driver. This arrangement of the power plant required a rearrangement and structural changes in the systems that ensure engine operation.

Bulletproof armor protection made of armored rolled sheets with a thickness of 6 and 10 mm. The armor plates were joined by welding and riveting.

The landing and dismounting of the landing force was carried out through a two-leaf door located in the rear of the vehicle, and the landing hatch in the roof of the cockpit. For firing from the personal weapons of the landing party and observing during movement, there were loopholes in the side and front walls of the armored cabin, which were covered with armored covers.

The landing was cramped and uncomfortable. The tests carried out showed the need to use an armored personnel carrier in the Red Army, the nose improved the comfort of the landing.

The cruising range of the car on the highway reached 100 km.

The TR-4 armored personnel carrier was developed on the basis of the T-26 KV tank of the Sistzmashtrest Pilot Plant named after S. M. Kirov (plant No. 185) in 1933. Three samples were made, one of which was tested at the II MVT proving ground at the end of 1933. - at the beginning of 1934, the armored personnel carrier was not adopted and was not in serial production.

The vehicle was intended to carry a fifteen-man assault force, which was housed in an armored cockpit located in the middle of the vehicle instead of the turret and turret of the tank. The engine compartment, located at the rear of the hull, was specially isolated from the troop compartment !! partition, in which there were two hatches for access to the engine. The crew of the armored personnel carrier consisted of one person - the driver. It was located at the right Borg and monitored the terrain through a viewing hatch, closed by an armored cover with a viewing slot and triplex.

The landing and dismounting of the troops were made through two side doors. In addition, landing hatches were located in the floor of the troop compartment. The troopers were housed in five folding seats installed along the propeller shaft connecting the engine and transmission (two on the right and three on the left). Two benches were located along the side walls of the cockpit and had fold-down footrests.

In the frontal and stern sheets of the conning tower, in special ball mountings, one 7.62-mm DT machine gun was placed. Ammunition for DT machine guns consisted of 4980 rounds. For ventilation of the troop compartment, a fan was installed in a special hole in the rear wall, covered with an armor plate.
