In early 2011, the Black Sea Fleet, the 11th separate coastal missile and artillery brigade (deployment - Anapa) received the 3rd mobile coastal missile system (PBRK) "Bastion".
Two more complexes (batteries) were delivered in 2010. The 11th brigade is armed with old, but powerful weapons - self-propelled 130-mm gun mounts A-222 "Bereg" and SCRC "Redut".
This complex began to be developed back in the Soviet Union in the 80s, but only now they began to put it into service and offer for export (several complexes were bought by Vietnam, Syria, and Venezuela is considering the possibility of buying). This is a very powerful weapon, one of the best in its class, the mobile RK is armed with the K-310 Yakhont supersonic anti-ship missile (PRK).
PBRK "Bastion" is capable of striking surface ships and vessels of all classes and types, both single targets and landing, aircraft carrier, strike groups, and in conditions of fire and electronic countermeasures.
"Bastion" is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 300 km, and cover a section of the coast with a length of 600 km. The standard battery "Bastion" consists of: 4 self-propelled launchers K-340P with 2 transport and launch cups for Yakhont missiles (crew of 3 people), 1-2 combat control vehicles (crew of 5 people), support vehicle combat duty, 4 transport-loading vehicles.
Additionally, the complex can be reinforced with a self-propelled over-the-horizon radio-location station for surface and air targets detection and target designation "Monolith B" and a helicopter radar.
PRK "Yakhont" in flight length 8, 1 meter, wingspan 1, 25 meters, warhead weight 200 kg. The PRK can fly in 2 modes: 1) low-altitude - up to 120 km. (at a height of 15 meters); 2) combined, on the main section at an altitude of up to 14 thousand km., At the finish 10-15 meters - up to 300 km. The maximum speed of Yakhont is 750 meters per second (at high altitudes), as it descends - 680 meters per second.
The time of combat readiness of the complex is 5 minutes, after which the complex can be fired with 8 missiles. After deployment, the battery can be on alert for 3-5 days.
In the context of the lagging behind and the collapse of the Russian Navy in general and the Black Sea Fleet in particular, such complexes will preserve the inviolability of the Russian sea borders. But it must be remembered that it is necessary to put into service the Bal-E coastal missile systems to defeat the enemy at distances of up to 120 km, and the Club-M ballistic missile system - with a range of up to 150 km. It is also necessary to develop new coastal self-propelled artillery installations, which will complement the missile batteries.
