A few days ago, quite interesting news spread on the Internet and in distant Iranian media - the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps received one of the first factory batches of the modernized Soviet-style anti-aircraft gun KS-19 - 100-mm "Saeer".
An automatic loading system was installed on the anti-aircraft gun, which ultimately led to the minimization of maintenance personnel. Additionally, they were equipped with an electric servo drive, which, in turn, is connected to an optoelectronic system for fire control. The UO system is most likely based on infrared elements. The ammunition supply store is located on the gun itself and does not exceed 10 ammunition.
The likely use of these weapons is the defeat of American reconnaissance unmanned vehicles of various designs, using an altitude of up to 14 kilometers. Against modern aviation and modern armored vehicles of the same America, the anti-aircraft gun does not pose any danger, since most likely it will be hit even before its own radar takes a target.
But, in general, it is very gratifying that Iran is building up its military muscles, although it is a pity that in this way. Iran has repeatedly shown its indignation with reconnaissance flights, perhaps a couple of downed drones will cool the hot American heads a little.
Main characteristics of "Saeer":
- shell weight 16 kilograms;
- rate of fire up to 15 rounds per minute;
- caliber 100 mm;
- range of destruction in height up to 15 kilometers;
- service personnel 2-4 people.
