More than 1,300 pieces of equipment and weapons - this is how much the Russian army will have to purchase by 2020 in accordance with the State Armaments Program. It was discussed today in Severodvinsk, at a meeting convened by Vladimir Putin. Before the meeting, the prime minister visited the famous Sevmash, which produces nuclear submarines. And examined one of the most recent developments - a fourth generation submarine. What will our armed forces be like very soon?

The submarine has returned to its element. This is not the first launch for the nuclear-powered Novomoskovsk: the crew waited 2 years for the completion of repairs and modernization.

Outwardly, it is still the same 170-meter hulk. In fact - a completely different submarine. After all, there are about a hundred technological improvements inside. Due to the lowered noise level, the submarine has become more secretive, but at the same time it now "sees" the enemy better.

Up-to-date - not only equipment, but also weapons: there are 16 Sineva missiles in the silos, they were put into service 3 years ago.

And in the same place in Severodvinsk, a completely new Russian submarine, "Alexander Nevsky", was launched. Her mooring trials began today. On the hull of the ship there is a solemn formation. Prime Minister Putin came to congratulate the North Sea residents.

The Alexander Nevsky, which the submariners are to receive next year, is the second Borei-class nuclear-powered submarine. Most of the characteristics are strictly classified. Submarines of this - 4th generation - should become the basis of the naval component of Russia's strategic nuclear forces in the 21st century. The new look of all branches of the armed forces is in the state program for the purchase of weapons. Today we discussed what and how much the army will receive in the next 9 years.

“We are allocating very serious funds for the armaments program. I’m even scared to say this figure: 20 trillion rubles,” says the prime minister. “Despite such a considerable amount, I must say that this is a calculated figure. The Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff defended and proved it. the need for the state to allocate resources in just such a volume. Bearing in mind the program for the withdrawal of certain weapons systems from the army and navy."

The troops will receive more than one thousand three hundred new types of equipment and weapons. The priority is traditionally given to the nuclear forces. The Air Force will receive a fifth generation fighter, the Navy will receive a series of modern surface ships, and the ground forces will receive effective armored vehicles and reconnaissance systems. New weapons entered the troops earlier, but often in the form of single samples. Now we are talking about large-scale serial production. And not all enterprises are ready for this.

“Where it is necessary to carry out re-equipment, re-equipment, first, re-equipment and re-equipment must be carried out, and only then money must or can be received to carry out the defense order,” Putin is convinced. And we do not need to master money, we need pieces: pieces for both delivery vehicles and missiles, if we talk about the Strategic Missile Forces."

According to the plan, by 2015 the share of modern weapons in the troops, in the navy, in aviation should increase to 30%, and by 2020 - to 70. The state armament program, Putin said, should be presented to the president by the end of this year.
