We continue our publications on the results of the trip to Brest. And today we bring to your attention a tour of one of the museums of the Brest Fortress.

The museum is located in one of the barracks in the citadel of the fortress. Actually, the barracks and the church (aka the former club) are almost everything that has survived on the island to this day. But a video tour of the fortress is still ahead, and we will move on to the exposition of the Museum of the Defense of the Brest Fortress.

The museum itself, shall we say, is mostly unimpressive. Moreover, some moments, such as the bars that close the passages during off-hours, welded from the barrels of found rifles, machine guns and bayonets, caused us misunderstanding and rejection. This is not how it should be. The weapons that they fought in the fortress did not deserve, such an attitude towards themselves. Silly and ungrateful.

In general, the museum is like a museum. There were dozens, if not hundreds of such in the USSR. With about the same content. In general, the spirit of the USSR is present.

But after some time, you begin to grasp the essence that separates this particular museum from dozens of other brethren. Apparently, once a reconstruction was carried out, and these inclusions and new showcases breathed, if not new life, then created their own spirit of this museum.

In the selection of photographs, I tried to focus on these points. How much it turned out, it's up to you to judge.

Undermining combat effectiveness. And one of the worst. But how not to trust TASS?

By the way, the Germans have a certain civilization. Yes, pragmatic. But not more.

Read it, please. It is impossible not to be imbued with the calmness and confidence of a person who met the war face to face just a week ago. And as far as Alexander clearly imagined that all the difficulties were still ahead …

The last exhibit of the museum: a portrait of the writer Sergei Sergeevich Smirnov. A man who, in fact, saved the Brest Fortress from being taken apart for building materials. But we will talk about him separately.

Here's a museum. It is called the "Museum of the Defense of the Brest Fortress". It seems to me that it would be more correct to call it "The Museum of the People of the Brest Fortress". That would be more correct.

In the next report I will talk about a completely new, recently opened museum. In the same place, in the Brest Fortress. It evokes very difficult feelings and sensations. Moreover, I do not know any analogues to it yet. So don't pass by.
