The republics of Novorossiya were waiting for provocations. We have been waiting since the beginning of May. Waited for all the holidays. There was something in the air: "Something will happen." The people came out to huge demonstrations, showing fortitude, but many in their hearts understood that any tragic unexpectedness could happen at any moment. They tried to dissuade me from going to Donbass these days: they say, absolutely everything is possible …
Parades passed, fireworks died down, loud "Hurray" sounded at the demonstrations … True, after the holidays, people survived several shelling, including a very serious one - on the night of May 19 (and some did not survive). But such attacks, no matter how cynical to say, have already become commonplace.
It seemed that fate averted a large, large-scale blow from Novorossiya. And suddenly … On the evening of May 23, terrible news literally blew up the infospace - the commander of the well-known Ghost brigade Aleksey Mozgovoy was killed on the highway between Lugansk and Alchevsk. His car was first blown up by a land mine, after which, together with neighboring cars, it was subjected to massive machine gun fire. No one had a chance to survive.
Seven people were killed in the monstrous terrorist attack. Including women - Mozgovoy's press secretary, mother of three children Anna Samelyuk and a pregnant passenger of a car that happened to be on the road in the wrong place and at the wrong time.
It is no coincidence that Aleksey Mozgovoy, the legendary fighter, who was one of the first to procure weapons and put together a very efficient brigade, became the target of the attack. Firstly, he enjoyed great prestige (although, like all field commanders, there were some negative opinions about him). Secondly, the "ghosts" inflicted many painful defeats on the "dill" at the front. Well, and thirdly (and perhaps this is the main thing) - it is too well known that Mozgovoy had disagreements with the central authorities of the Lugansk People's Republic.
Many rushed to grab the version that seemed the most obvious. Before May 9, A. Mozgovoy wrote: “Within half an hour, two“kind”proposals were made - arrest and complete destruction … In the event that I don’t refuse to hold a military parade in the city of Alchevsk, Novorossia - a forum of solidarity between the people of Novorossia and Europe”.
Aha! Here it is! Consequently, the conclusion suggests itself - Mozgovoy was destroyed by “their own”. And he foresaw it and wrote about it. What a temptation to adopt this particular version!
If not for the row of "but" …
Firstly, the “insiders” would have a lot of chances to eliminate the unwanted commander quietly. Not so loud and not so bloody. No unnecessary sacrifices.
Secondly, Bandera's handwriting in the crime is traced too clearly. For some reason, I involuntarily remembered how the ancestors of the current ideologues and executors of the ATO, even during the Great Patriotic War, staged the most vile ambush in which General Vatutin was killed.
Well, and an example from modern history - the barbaric murder on January 23, 2015 of the mayor of the city of Pervomaisk Evgeny Ishchenko (call sign "Malysh"). He died along with two volunteers who delivered humanitarian aid.
So the "dill" switched to the tactics of cowardly terror against Novorossiya a few months ago.
Thirdly (and - most importantly) - after the very publication of Mozgovoy, his murder is absolutely not beneficial to the LPR authorities.
In addition, the commander of the "Ghosts" then made a reasonable compromise with Plotnitsky - the parade in the full sense of the word on May 9 was not held in Alchevsk. The armored vehicles did not go. Instead, a festive demonstration took place - well, nobody could cancel this action, because the people took to the streets themselves.
But from the very beginning of May, provocations were expected …
Thus, the "dill" could try to "kill two birds with one stone" - to eliminate the brigade commander they hated and use the tragedy that happened to split the ranks of the LPR and Novorossiya as a whole. To undermine everyone's trust in everyone. And the fragmented and demoralized ones are so easy to destroy afterwards …
Of course, in such cases, nothing can be asserted with a 100% guarantee. However, one must always ask the question: who benefits?
… In addition to the fact that Aleksey Mozgovoy is a warrior (I do not write "was", because he remained so), he is also a poet. The poet who predicted his death … Long before the "Euromaidan" and subsequent events, he wrote the following lines:
Nice to die in May.
It is convenient for a gravedigger to dig.
And the nightingales will all sing
The last time is so incomparable.
… It's not bad to die in May, Stay in the freshness of the spring.
And although I could not do everything, But there was no longer any doubt.
And so it happened. He died in May, when New Russia blooms with lilacs and chestnuts, when the nightingales sing, when the wind is fresh like spring …
The most important thing is to keep fighting for his ideas. As for the ideas of Evgeny Ishchenko, who fell at the hands of cowardly Bandera terrorists. And for the ideas of everyone who died on the fronts of this new war … Regardless of the attitude towards this or that leader. No matter how painful it is …
I think that the legendary brigade commander would not want his comrades-in-arms, friends, like-minded people to succumb to Ukropov's provocations. Because Novorossiya - his Novorossiya - is above all.
