R-330BM - front edge station. Its main task is to counter the radio stations of the tactical command and control level and aviation of a potential enemy.
ASP is designed for automatic search, detection, direction finding, panoramic observation and positioning (when working in a coupled pair) of radio sources in the range of 30-100 MHz, as well as radio suppression of VHF radio communication lines operating both at fixed frequencies and with software restructuring of the working frequency.
In fact, until now, the R-330BM was part of the R-330M electronic warfare complex ("Mandate").
The R-330M complex could include the RP-330KP Reactor battalion control center, the R-330KMB company control posts (up to two) and the R-330BM and R-934BM, R-378BM HF band automated jamming stations.
Each of the stations can work both in coordination with the control point, and independently or in tandem with a similar station as a slave / master.

The possibilities for the number of suppressed targets are determined by the fact that up to 20 frequencies (or one frequency hopping frequency) can be assigned to one jamming station, while simultaneously suppressing 4 frequencies (or one frequency hopping frequency).
The total time of deployment (folding) with the establishment of all types of communication is: deployment 90-120 minutes, folding 60-90 minutes.
Stations can operate in the following modes: autonomous, autonomous under the control center, paired pair, paired pair under the control center.
The main tasks performed by the calculation of the station:
- carrying out radio reconnaissance, receiving data and issuing target designations to jamming stations;
- determination of the location of radio emission sources;
- identification of communication centers and determination of their belonging;
- assignment of importance to the identified objects according to the parameters of the carrier frequency and bearing;
- target distribution of radio suppression objects and the issuance of appropriate target designations to the ASP;
- suppression, assessment of efficiency, adjustment of target allocation based on the results of assessing the current efficiency, taking into account the detection of new sources of radio emission.

The operating frequency range of the interference station from 30 to 100 MHz is divided into three sub-bands: 30-45 MHz, 45-67 MHz, 67-100 MHz.

The diesel generator that feeds the station, unlike the "Zhitel", is domestic.
A feature of the R-330BM is the ability to operate on a roof antenna, without deploying the main antenna complex in motion or during short stops. At the same time, the range of work is significantly reduced, but the gain comes at the expense of efficiency.
The R-330BM is a reliable front edge shield capable of both upsetting the enemy's command of its units and disabling the enemy's aviation when approaching the area of application.
