A regular participant in various events and exhibitions is the T-90A main battle tank. Armored vehicles of this type regularly take part in parades, salons of weapons and equipment, as well as in other events. The car is well known to specialists and technology enthusiasts, which, however, does not lead to a decrease in public interest. In early October, the T-90A tank was present at the exhibition "Innovation Day of the Southern Military District".
Like other vehicles of this class, the T-90A tank is designed to combat armored vehicles and enemy fortifications when interacting with infantry and other types of troops. Being a variant of modernization of the basic T-90, the T-90A continues to develop the basic ideas laid down in the projects of the T-72 family. Through the use of a set of new equipment, it was possible to significantly increase the characteristics and overall combat effectiveness of the vehicle. At the same time, the T-90A is not the last representative of its family. In the future, the development of the family's tanks continued, which resulted in the emergence of several new projects.
The T-90A tank is equipped with differentiated anti-cannon armor. The frontal projection of the vehicle is protected by combined armored barriers based on armored steel. An additional means of countering attacks are dynamic defense units on the frontal hull and turret. Also, the protection of the armored vehicle is provided with the help of the "Shtora-1" optical-electronic countermeasures complex. This system thwarts enemy attacks with infrared searchlights and smoke grenade launchers.
The main weapon of the tank is a smooth-bore gun-launcher 2A46M of 125 mm caliber. The cannon is paired with an automatic loader and can use various types of ammunition. The ammunition of the tank includes armor-piercing and high-explosive shells of various types, as well as guided missiles "Invar" of the "Reflex" complex.
A coaxial PKTM machine gun is mounted on the same unit with the gun. Also, an anti-aircraft machine gun mount with a heavy machine gun NSVT or "Kord" can be used to attack various lightly protected targets. This device is located above the commander's hatch.
The T-90A tank is equipped with a 1A42 type fire control system. This system includes the 1G46 sight, the T01-K04 commander's sighting and observation device, the 1A43 gunner's information and computing complex, a laser rangefinder and a number of other systems. All this equipment, as well as a two-plane weapon stabilizer, make it possible to determine the location of the target and the range to it, calculate the necessary firing parameters and carry out an attack using unguided and guided weapons.
The tank is equipped with a 1000 hp V-92S2 multi-fuel engine. With a combat weight of 46.5 tons, such a power plant can reach speeds of up to 60 km / h on the highway. The average speed on a dirt road is between 35-40 km / h.
It is known about the existence of two variants of the T-90A tanks. Modifications of 2004 and 2006 have some differences in the composition of the sighting equipment. At the same time, both vehicles were serially built and supplied to the troops. According to reports, the production of T-90A tanks of the 2004 modification was only 32 units, while the 2006 version of the tank was built in the amount of several hundred.
Tanks T-90, including modifications "A", due to their relatively large number are present in various formations of the ground forces. A certain amount of such equipment is also present in the Southern Military District. One of the main T-90A tanks from the Southern Military District took part in the Innovation Day exhibition in Rostov-on-Don in early October.
