On August 10, the Ministry of Defense held a Single Day for the Acceptance of Military Products. As part of this event, the results of the supply of various products and military construction in the second quarter and the first half of 2021 were summed up. The reports of officials noted the progress achieved and featured specific numbers.

Major successes

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu summed up the overall results of the work of recent months and years. He recalled that the idea of Single Acceptance Days appeared and was first implemented five years ago. Before that, at the end of the year, there was a rush of delivery of products by enterprises throughout the country, associated with some negative phenomena. Now this process has been divided into four main periods and old problems got rid of.

Quarterly Unified Days allowed industry and the army to establish the right interaction along the supply line. Synchronization has been achieved that meets modern conditions. The army manages to carry out the necessary construction and training of personnel, after which the industry transfers it new products.

It is noted that the existing restrictions due to the fight against the current pandemic did not have a serious negative impact on the production and supply processes. The rhythmic supply and acceptance of military products continues. New industrial products arrive in parts according to established plans and schedules.

Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko noted in his report that in the first half of the year the state defense order for new models was fulfilled by 34%. This is in line with the established schedule. Such a pace of work will make it possible to fulfill all plans for the current year.

During the Single Acceptance Day, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense announced the main results of the first half of the year. In addition, from places, incl. from the enterprises of the defense industry, reported on certain successes in the implementation of an army order or in the development of new models.

Rearmament processes

In the first half of the year, supplies of new military and special equipment, as well as various weapons, continued. As before, the armies handed over a large number of new samples, as well as returned products that were undergoing repair and modernization. The details of these processes were disclosed by A. Krivoruchko in his report.

For six months, 68 new units of armored weapons and equipment were transferred to the ground and airborne forces. After repairs, 70 units were returned to service. 163 new vehicles were received, 156 more were repaired. The deliveries of rocket and artillery weapons reached 56 units. Also, more than 100 thousand units were transferred. wearable weapons and items of equipment.

For obvious reasons, the detailed list of the received products, their quantity and share in deliveries is not published. At the same time, from the news and messages of recent months, it follows that the army received equipment and weapons of all major classes, including modernized tanks and armored personnel carriers, as well as new armored vehicles and weapons.

From January to June, the Aerospace Forces received 2 newly built aircraft and 3 vehicles for repair. Also received 8 new and 14 repaired helicopters. Two unmanned aerial complexes "Forpost-R" were put into operation. The radio-technical troops of the Aerospace Forces received 12 new radar stations, as well as 15 products after repair. The deliveries of aviation weapons exceeded 32 thousand units.

According to the report of the Minister of Defense, the list of new and modernized products for the Aerospace Forces for the first half of the year included MiG-35 fighters, Ka-52 and Mi-8MTPR-1 helicopters, etc.

In February and June, the space forces joined the grouping of electronic reconnaissance satellites. From the Plesetsk cosmodrome, the products "Lotos-S" and "Pion-NKS" were launched into orbit and taken under control.

The Navy received the first multipurpose nuclear submarine, project 885M, "Kazan". The industry also handed over to the fleet another small missile ship, project 21631, "Grayvoron". The fleet of combat boats and support vessels has been replenished with seven new and refurbished pennants. In the interests of the coastal forces, a divisional set of the Bastion missile system was purchased.

The rearmament of the strategic missile forces continues. They routinely receive modern weapons and equipment. However, the types and quantities of products delivered since the beginning of the year are not disclosed.

Military construction

The process of military development continues, aimed at updating and improving the infrastructure of the armed forces. S. Shoigu said that this year the military construction complex should commission 3 thousand buildings and structures for various purposes and in different regions.

In the first half of the year, we completed approx. 1600 construction projects. At the same time, the main efforts are directed at the construction of facilities for the deployment of equipment and weapons. First of all, the infrastructure of the strategic nuclear forces is undergoing renewal. As an example, the construction of new facilities in the Strategic Missile Forces units located in Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Kozelsk and Teikovo is given.

New large-scale construction and reconstruction programs have been launched since the beginning of the year. Their goal is to update and develop the existing aerodrome network in the interests of the Aerospace Forces. It is necessary to improve the naval bases. Work continues on equipping units and bases in the Arctic.

The minister recalled that in the recent past, military builders were repeatedly involved in work in the civilian sphere. So, in the first half of the year, hydraulic structures were put into operation on the river. Belbek in Crimea, built by the military.

Plans for the near future have been revealed, affecting supplies and construction by the end of this year. According to the plans being implemented, the State Defense Order-2021 must be fulfilled by at least 99%. Thanks to this, by the beginning of 2022, the total share of modern weapons and equipment in the army will reach 71.9%. The current pace of work and deliveries makes it possible to have no doubts about the fulfillment of these plans.

The most interesting news is related to the Strategic Missile Forces. The commander of the 13th missile division (Orenburg), Major General Andrei Cherevko, said that two silo launchers are currently being prepared, and in the future they will house the Avangard complexes. Organizationally, these complexes will be included in the second regiment with such weapons. He will take over duty until the end of 2022. The supply of "conventional" intercontinental missiles will continue - this year the Strategic Missile Forces will receive 15 such products.

In the coming months, the ground forces will have to receive 65 modernized T-90M tanks in addition to the existing ones. In addition, 20 T-14 vehicles will be delivered. A brigade set of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system is being manufactured.

The Aerospace Forces should receive four serial Su-57 fighters at once, as well as aviation equipment of other types. The delivery of several unmanned aerial complexes with 18 UAVs of medium and heavy class is planned. Due to new supplies, the air defense and missile defense forces will also be strengthened. An interesting novelty will be the L-410 multipurpose aircraft on a float landing gear. Tests of such a machine will be completed by the end of the year.

The Navy is expecting large deliveries. He will be given three nuclear submarines and one diesel-electric one. Also expected are six surface ships of different types, three coastal complexes "Bastion" and various weapons, weapons, etc. State tests of the Zircon hypersonic anti-ship missile are nearing completion. Next year it can be put into service.

In accordance with the plans for this year, by January it is necessary to complete and commission about 1400 buildings and structures for various purposes. The pace of work in the first half of the year makes it possible to count on the successful implementation of the adopted plans.

Work continues

Thus, the military-industrial complex continues to fulfill existing orders and prepares to receive new ones, while the Ministry of Defense accepts and masters new and modernized products. At the same time, the infrastructure is being updated, personnel training, etc.

By the beginning of 2021, the Ministry of Defense and the MIC by joint efforts were able to solve the main problem of the past and brought the share of modern samples to the required 70%. Production continues, and this figure will rise again. At the same time, we are talking not just about numbers in reporting, but about new weapons, equipment and facilities that will make a significant contribution to the country's defense over the next years and decades.
