Currently, the supply of the Russian armed forces consists of the Combat Combat Combat Arms Tactical Simulator (OTT BS) developed by the Kronstadt Group and the Era Technopolis. This complex is capable of simulating combat operations and is designed to prepare personnel for work in different conditions. Modernization methods

According to the organization-developer, OTT BS "Kombat-E" includes a number of different equipment. The simulator includes a training command post, a multifunctional training classroom, combat vehicle simulators, a shooting simulator, etc. Fully equipped "Kombat-E" occupies 1800 square meters and provides simultaneous work for 85 people.

Recently, a representative of the Era technopolis revealed some details of the current work on improving the tactical simulator. The current upgrade does not make major changes to the architecture or to individual system components. At the same time, software updates are provided.

The combat simulation system is supplemented with new models of weapons and military equipment. Now in "Kombat-E" new models of domestic armored vehicles and robotic systems are being introduced. Such products go into service, and they are brought into the memory of the OTT BS. Due to such updates, the simulator meets modern requirements and the actual appearance of the armed forces.

In parallel, the second approach to improving the complex is being implemented. The hardware and software part of the simulator, which is responsible for simulating combat actions, is based on a neural network. This system, interacting with people, gains experience and learns. It is argued that by now the Kombata-E neural network has learned to choose the most effective solutions and scenarios that ensure victory over a person.

Educational complex

OTT BS "Combat" of the first version began to be supplied to various parts of our army in 2012. Subsequently, the Kronstadt group developed a new version of this complex, "Combat-E". Now the development of developments on two projects is carried out within the framework of cooperation between Kronstadt and the Era technopolis.

The complex is designed to prepare fighters and commanders for the conduct of hostilities in different conditions against various enemy forces. The work is simulated in the selected conditions according to a certain legend. With the help of "Kombat-E", combat coordination can be carried out at the level of a platoon, company or battalion. When conducting training, the role of a conditional adversary is assumed by the simulator's neural network.

The OTT BS "Kombat-E" includes a large number of different systems and means with which commanders, crews of combat vehicles and individual soldiers must work. All components work within the framework of the so-called. A single virtual battlefield (EVPB) and interact with each other, as well as with the automation of the complex.

The simulator architecture provides high flexibility of its use. Both all and individual components can be used at the same time. In addition, there is the possibility of scaling and changing the configuration. CEFS technology can be used to organize cross-disciplinary training events.

In the latest versions of the complex, models of modern equipment and weapons have been introduced. In particular, unmanned aerial vehicles and robotic systems are integrated into them. An important innovation is the possibility of a relatively simple integration of new teaching aids, incl. from third party developers.

Modern approach

The use of OTT BS "Kombat" allows you to conduct various training activities without going to training grounds, organizing live fire, etc. At the same time, in all cases, we are talking about simplifying the organization of exercises and increasing their effectiveness.

The use of the simulator, first of all, reduces the need for field trips. It can also help to reduce the consumption of ammunition in training firing. Shooters and crews of armored vehicles get the opportunity to practice the use of weapons in a classroom or on a simulator - and only after that use real weapons at the range.

Previously, the training of commanders was carried out using available means. In particular, combat scenarios were modeled on maps. OTT BS "Combat" allows you to perform the same work using computer technology. A computer with a neural network more effectively simulates combat operations with many different factors and variables, which increases the results of educational work.

The automation of the tactical simulator collects all the data on the work of the participants in the exercise, which can then be analyzed. Based on the results of such an analysis, recommendations should be formed - both for individual military personnel and for units. "Kombat" and instructors will help determine what issues should be paid attention to in further training.

OTT BS "Kombat-E" can also be used to develop advanced models of weapons and equipment at the design level and in the context of application. Simulation of the new prototype and subsequent validation within the framework of the EFSA ensures the development of optimal methods of application, as well as allows to identify some shortcomings in a timely manner. The findings of this stage can then be verified and confirmed by testing real prototypes.

In the classroom and on the training ground

The use of a tactical combat coordination simulator of the Kombat family does not exclude the need for other training activities. Fighters and commanders still need to visit shooting ranges and ranges to practice and test their skills on real sites - outside the EFSA. The basic concept of OTT BS provides that by this time the personnel will already have the necessary skills and will be able to solve combat training tasks faster and better.

It should also be borne in mind that even the most advanced electronic systems cannot yet fully simulate and simulate real events. Mathematical modeling of real objects is constantly improving, which still has known limitations.

The Era technopolis believes that it will be possible to solve this problem by further increasing the computing power of the simulators. A potential leap in opportunities is associated with the development of promising quantum computers.

However, the emergence of the most successful and perfect models of the situation, weapons, equipment, scenarios, etc. will not allow completely abandoning exercises at training grounds. Battles are never fought on a virtual battlefield, and the military must be familiar with the real world.

Timely software updates and replacement of individual components will ensure that such systems meet current requirements for many years.
