The Chinese HD-1 has 4 rectangular air intakes of two-dimensional flow, which, with a sufficiently small mid-section, will provide it with a speed of 4-4.5M at high altitudes and 3-2.5M at medium and low altitudes. As you can see, the speed capabilities of this product are outstanding, and this fact alone puts it on a level higher than, for example, the American AGM-88E AARGM anti-radar / multipurpose missile, or our Kh-58USHK equipped with standard solid-propellant rocket engines, after “burnout "of which the flight speed is reduced to 2, 5-1, 5, not allowing anti-aircraft maneuvers.

Moreover, the impressive lengthening of the body allows placing in the internal volume of the HD-1 a specialized valve for regulating the supply of the gas generator to the combustion chamber of the IRPD. By means of this device, the gas generator is saved on the cruising section of the trajectory while maintaining the speed at the level of 2.0-2.5M, which allows it to accelerate to 3500 km / h at the time of diving to the target. The operation of the IRPD in the final phase of the flight ensures the implementation of intensive anti-missile maneuvers with an overload of 25-30G. Today not a single rocket equipped with solid propellants possesses such qualities (except for the 9M723-1 Iskander-M). As for the HD-1 guidance system, we are talking about a multi-frequency active-passive radar seeker, designed to "capture" both surface and ground radio-emitting and radio-contrast targets of the enemy. It is integrated with a GPS module and an inertial navigation system. Consequently, suppressing its guidance modes will require the use of the most complex range of electronic countermeasures.
