It notes that the Sukhoi Design Bureau began development of the Su-27 in 1969, the preliminary design was completed in 1975, and the construction of the first prototype aircraft began in 1976. In May 1977, test pilot Vladimir Ilyushin made its maiden flight on a fighter. The first production Su-27 took to the skies in June 1982.
In subsequent years, the report says, on the basis of the Su-27, such machines as Su-27K, Su-27M, Su-27SKM, Su-27KUB, Su-30KI, Su-30MK, carrier-based Su-33, the newest multifunctional fighter Su -35, front-line bomber Su-34 32.
