This pistol remained relevant for a long time, but the consumer, including the army and the police, demanded weapons for more powerful ammunition, and Arsenal hurried to meet these requirements. With the beginning of the new century, the company began work on a new model of weapons, which was supposed to meet the needs of both the civilian market and become armed with the army and police, and this pistol was eventually developed. Let's try to get to know him.
It was decided to make a new pistol for one of the main ammunition, which, although it is slowly becoming obsolete, does not lose its relevance, namely 9x19. The designers decided to create a weapon that would stand out from the general background, while being quite reliable and effective, combining compactness, high working life and would be cheap to manufacture. Unfortunately, it was not possible to implement all of the plans, although the result turned out to be quite nice, although it had some problems.
The appearance of the pistol corresponds to all the latest modern trends in the weaponry fashion: a combination of plastic and metal, a seat for additional devices, etc. and so on. On the right and left sides, on the shutter casing, there is a fuse switch, which protrudes beyond the shutter casing at the back, which allows you to remove and put the weapon on the safety lock without taking it away from the aiming line, although this is a little hindered by the pistol trigger, but in any case all this is implemented reasonably and conveniently. The plastic frame under the barrel has a seat for a compact flashlight or laser designator. The slide lag control element is located on the left side, it also serves as a latch for the bolt cover, which prevents the weapon from disassembling itself. The pistol grip has interchangeable back pads that allow you to adapt the weapon to the hand of a shooter of different sizes. Standard sights are mounted on dovetail seats on the bolt, which allows you to replace them with more convenient for the shooter, including those that are fully adjustable.
But much more interesting is the weapon's automation system, which is built on the principle of gas braking of the bolt. A gas piston is placed under the barrel of the weapon, into which, when fired through the hole in the barrel bore, powder gases enter and do not allow the shutter casing to move back. After the bullet leaves the barrel, the propellant gases reduce their pressure and the breech casing can begin to move unhindered by ejecting the spent cartridge case and cocking the hammer when moving backward and inserting the new cartridge into the chamber when moving forward. The idea of such an automation system is not new, there are other types of weapons that work on the same principle, but they all have one common drawback - high requirements for the powder charge. "Dirty" and low-quality gunpowder immediately makes itself felt in such weapons, negatively affects the reliability and durability of the sample. So no one knows what you can't load a pistol with, it feeds exclusively on high-quality ammunition.
The weapon has a polygonal rifling barrel with a length of 103.6 millimeters. The total length of the weapon is 180 millimeters. The weight of the R-M02 pistol is 760 grams, the magazine capacity is 15 rounds. Due to the fact that the weapon is very capricious to the ammunition, the declared resource of the pistol itself is 6,000 shots, the barrel of the weapon is capable of withstanding 10,000 shots. I don't think it's worth saying what information is present in the advertisement of weapons and what is not.
In general, the sample, in my opinion, turned out to be very interesting, but far from being for widespread distribution, if only due to the fact that you cannot find high-quality cartridges everywhere. The dimensions and weight of the weapon make it possible to carry it hidden without any inconvenience, even if it comes to daily wearing. The accuracy of the weapon is quite high and with good training the shooter can confidently use the weapon at distances of up to 100 meters, although the effective range indicated by the manufacturer is 50 meters, but there is already a question about the growth of the hands of each individual shooter.
