One of the most unique Russian highways built over the past 5 years is the Novorossiysk-Sevastopol-Port of Tartus (Syria) track. It is along this route that the so-called "Syrian Express" runs, which has already made several hundred flights.

It is largely thanks to him that Syria still exists as a country today. Therefore, it seems to me, the ships and vessels that are part of the "Syrian Express" are worthy of special mention. And these are not only warships, but also civilian ships, sometimes with a very unusual history.

Black Sea Fleet:

Purchased by the Navy and included in the list of auxiliary vessels of the Black Sea Fleet:

8. "Kyzyl-60" (formerly "Smyrna", Turkey)

9. "Kazan-60" (formerly - "Georgy Agafonov", Ukraine)

One of the interesting stories is connected with the acquisition of this vessel. Naturally, Ukraine could not sell the ship directly to the "aggressor country". Therefore, the ship was sold to such a "sea" power as Mongolia. However, a month later, the vessel was sold to the Russian side and transferred to the auxiliary vessels of the Black Sea Fleet. Did the Ukrainians know who they were selling this ship to? It seems that they knew.

Foreign ships:

It is not surprising that a Syrian ship was spotted on the Syrian Express route a couple of times.

And for sweets - a real "detective". The ship "Novorossiysk" does not belong directly to Russia. It is owned by Turkey. The vessel is leased to another "maritime" power - the Republic of Palau, which is located somewhere between Indonesia and Australia.

However, a hastily painted Turkish identification mark can be seen on the ship. Apparently, the glorious Palauchanians were in such a hurry to help the just cause of the fight against international terrorism. For which many thanks to them!
