I'll tell you right away for those who read only the title and the beginning of the article. There is no description in the title. The author does not smoke or drink anything. The conversation today will focus specifically on the Soviet Union. Or rather, about Soviet weapons. Be that as it may, the legacy of the USSR in this area is so huge that even a quarter of a century after the collapse of the Union, the new republics use Soviet weapons. And they use it quite successfully. Our "old man" Kalashnikov (AK) fights in various versions, protects the borders of new states, is "weighed down" according to the Western type with all sorts of nonsense (like being modernized) …
The events that take place in various regions of the former USSR ultimately have one goal, as simple as an alphabet. It is necessary by any means to sever cultural, historical, political, economic and other ties with Russia. Moreover, it does not matter at all with whom the republics will be connected later. The main thing is to break. This "other" also includes the armament of the new armies.
Remember, the first blow was struck at the youth. By culture. We did not follow at all, and to be honest, we do not really follow, to be honest, today, what our youth "breathes" with. We believed and still believe that normal parents in a normal country cannot have abnormal children. But they have grown! We got a generation in which a certain part turned into "bulk". Not very literate, but active. It is precisely these who have become the driving force behind the Ukrainian Maidan.
Roughly the same situation occurs in morality. The age-old moral norms are being successfully replaced by "modern" Western ones. I don’t know if you noticed, but today in the majority of the minds of our fellow citizens the “truth” about the correctness of the one who has a thicker wallet is “firmly” hammered. Perhaps that is why the fight against corruption, which we have been "waging" for many years, is successfully ending with regular "incarceration" now in anti-corruption agencies. But thanks to the law of the fat wallet, the "landings" are ridiculous. Like Serdyukov and his team …
Well, this is all "sprinkling ashes on the head" from the evil one. It seems that everyone is to blame for this. But in reality … no one. I am personally not to blame. Any reader too. "We" has no personality. We did it. But I did not participate in this … As we have, some still use the excellent kindergarten argument in the dispute. "I did not participate in the elections. So, I am not responsible for everything that happens in the country!"
Further - more interesting. Precisely from the point of view of the goals set by the West in the fight against Russia. Next is the economy. I am specifically focusing on this aspect of relations between Western countries and the former Soviet republics. Simply because the economy is most indicative for understanding the algorithm for breaking relations.
After the collapse of the USSR was announced, we did not even think about the real collapse. How can you live without ambulances from the Baltic states? How can you live without AN aircraft? How can the textile industry work without Uzbek cotton? Where can Georgian or Moldovan wine disappear? After all, all this was before our birth. Those. it is eternal … How eternal is the Azerbaijani, Tatar or Western Ukrainian oilman in the northern Siberian regions. Well, they are experts. Moreover, the specialists are of the highest category. And hard workers to the erased palms …
However, a little more than a quarter of a century has passed. And what do we see today? We see that all this has disappeared. Something completely, irrevocably. Something is still trying to survive. But he is trying. Young people no longer even know, for example, about the existence of the once luxurious VEF receivers. Moreover, young people are not only in Russia, but also where they were produced …
How did this come about? The easiest way to blame everything on traitors in the government. On the president-agent of the United States or the EU. To Russia, which "abandoned us in difficult years" … Today, when Russia got up, albeit staggering, but got up from its knees, you can say that. And in the 90s? Which country received the most punches? In what country was such a regime? Such a drunk in presidents? Who ate handouts from the "lordly western table" in the form of "Bush's legs"? Whom did Chubais and Co. robbed with this grandiose privatization project?
They finished us off. Finished off our economy. They beat me in the most vulnerable places. Why do you need weapons if we are your friends? Why do you need space if you have NASA? Why do you need electronics if the Japanese have overtaken the entire planet for decades to come? Why do you need … everything? We'll sell you everything. You just extract resources and sell to us …
Oh, how I want to write about our intelligence and ingenuity! That we quickly understood the plans of the West. About our struggle for the country. Hinting that the rest of the "breakaways" are not so smart … I would like to, but I will not. Simply because I believe that it was not we who won, but Russia. As it happened before. Russian immensity. Russian slowness. Russian mentality, if you like. We do not know how to change quickly. We have been so often exposed to all kinds of invasions that we have learned to resist them.
The West considered us "wooden" in the sense of the mind. You know, like a Christmas tree or a pine tree, given our climate. Conifers, in a word … Only now I have not looked how these "trees" differ from "pines" … No one wondered why, after a fire (forest fire) in a spruce forest, pines grow in its place? No one wondered why short-stemmed spruces are falling down with the wind, while tall pines are standing?
The roots are different! Spruce is lazy. The roots are located in the upper soil layer. Where there is more water and all other useful substances. A fibrous root system … And the pine is smarter. It grows in depth, in the history of the Earth. The core root system … I'm not talking about the seeds of spruce and pine trees. The spruce is defenseless. The beetle ate or burned the fire. Everything is on fire. And the trunk, and the cones … And the pine? A pine tree whose cones only open at 60 degrees Celsius! And they grow better than without "heat" treatment. "Pine seeds use fire to kindle the resin, which is tightly sealed by the tree … And the cinder serves as an excellent fertilizer. And all sorts of beetles cannot eat them. Resin … For decades, a pine cone hanging on the dead tree, alive …
But let us return from the lyrical digression to the prose of life. The West, destroying the economies of countries, "putting" the people on loans and financial injections, began to dictate the conditions for the purchase of goods. We give you a loan, but on condition that you buy this and that. And in a strictly defined place. Great scheme. Look at Ukraine. Russian gas through Slovakia … And it was like that everywhere.
And what about the "damned Soviet legacy" in the field of weapons? Yes, exactly in the same way. Let me remind you of one small episode from the life of Ukraine, again. An episode that hardly touched anyone. But in fact, it is very indicative and speaks volumes.
On the air of the 112 Ukraine TV channel, President Poroshenko announced the need to build a plant for the production of ammunition according to NATO standards. First of all, the production of cartridges of caliber 5, 56 mm. The National Defense and Security Council of Ukraine has allocated 1.5 billion hryvnia for this!
Interesting? And how! Ukraine, whose stocks of Soviet machine guns today are such that only these stocks can equip all European armies, is building a plant for the production of cartridges for weapons that are considered exotic in the Ukrainian army. And those cartridges that are stored in arsenals today, where? Together with automatic machines in grease?
For the "giant" there is a universal version, which is perfectly "tested" on visa-free travel with the EU."Ukraine aspires to NATO! By 2020, we will transfer the army to the standards of the alliance!" Ukrainians "eat". They have long been just such a "people". And they will rejoice, like children, at such a "change". Moreover, on TV screens, Ukrainian soldiers are already outwardly quite similar to Europeans. Form …
So what? What would the child not amuse himself with, if only he would not cry? Maybe … Only now you need to shake your head. Are there similar solutions in any other countries? Naturally! Ukraine is too large a state to try on it. There will be a lot of money. And Americans don't like to risk money. So I looked around … Georgia! Two weeks ago! May 30, 2017. From the message of the Georgian Ministry of Defense: "The Minister of Defense of Georgia Levan Izoria and the head of the General Staff Vladimir Chachibaya personally tested the M-240 at the military training ground in Krtsanisi (near Tbilisi) on May 27. The ceremony of the transfer of American machine guns took place as part of the celebrations marking the opening of the Joint Training and Assessment Center Georgia-NATO (JTEC) two years ago."
So, Georgia has begun a phased replacement of PKM machine guns and Kalashnikov assault rifles with American weapons. M-240 machine guns and M-4 carbines. Izoria just glowed with happiness, accepting American weapons. "We have received hundreds of such machine guns, which are modern weapons of the highest standard. The equipping process will continue in the future. We have spoken about this more than once publicly. And it is with equipment that meets NATO standards and, naturally, a high standard of exercises, we will ensure the stability of our country." …
And how is this connected with Ukraine? The answer was given by the US Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly. It is enough just to change the name of the country, and … There is nothing new in this world. "I arrived in Georgia two years ago and I see how this infrastructure is developing over this period. I am glad that we were able to transfer the M-240 machine gun to the Georgian Armed Forces, which is a NATO standard weapon and further contributes to Georgia's membership in the alliance."
It remains to link my thoughts about economics and armaments. Why did I pay so much attention to the destruction of the national economies of countries and the credit expansion of the West? It's simple. For the same example.
The Interfax news agency reported an interesting fact. The weapons will be purchased with funds allocated by the United States to improve the defense capability of Georgia! "Gas from Slovakia" in the Georgian version … Again, I repeat, the Americans played beautifully. And they will play in the same way in Ukraine.
What American analysts have failed in Russia, I mean the coniferous species, has worked quite well in the former Soviet republics. Pine does not grow everywhere …
Only now, according to the stories of the participants in the 08.08.08 war, when the valiant Georgian army heroically scrambled from South Ossetia, these M-4s and other American "good" were thrown, but the old AKs were dragging with them. They dragged them to the last … But this is war. Not politics … And in war, weapons are the first friend and comrade.
