What are the main qualities of a scout? The most important thing is a high intellectual level, the ability to quickly respond to a rapidly changing environment, to have good vision and communication, while remaining invisible to the enemy, to be highly mobile, reliably protected, and to be able to "snap" fire.
And what qualities should be inherent in a saboteur? First of all - the ability to effectively use various types of weapons and, in addition, the possession of the qualities inherent in a scout.
Based on these ideas, the Belarusian enterprise Minotor-Service has developed a combat reconnaissance and sabotage vehicle 2T "Stalker". The leading design organizations and enterprises of Belarus and Russia took part in the development.
Armament
The equipment and armament of the 2T machine are located on a highly mobile high-speed tracked chassis.
The armament of the machine includes:
stabilized 30mm cannon
coaxial 7, 62 mm machine gun
two retractable launchers, each of which can be equipped with two anti-tank or anti-aircraft missiles
automatic 30mm grenade launcher
The fire control system allows for simultaneous shelling of two targets, for example, an armored object with an anti-tank missile and manpower with a grenade launcher.
Intelligence service
The reconnaissance equipment of the vehicle is a fundamentally new multi-channel round-the-clock optoelectronic complex.
The reconnaissance complex of the machine provides:
automatic selection and tracking of moving targets
laser and optical determination of the range to the target
long-range automatic transmission of intelligence
The transported stock of ammunition, fuel, water and foodstuffs ensures long-term autonomous combat operation of the vehicle and the crew in isolation from the rear and supply bases.
In addition to ammunition for the main armament, the vehicle provides a place for placing mines for manual mining during sabotage operations and containers for special equipment.
Mobility
High maneuverability and speed parameters of the machine are provided by a diesel engine, hydromechanical transmission, hydrostatic steering mechanism and hydropneumatic suspension.
The machine confidently takes all natural and specially created obstacles, makes ten-meter jumps on trampolines. At the same time, the crew notes an unusually low level of loads and internal noise for armored vehicles. Physical activity while driving a car is at the level of a modern passenger car. Reverse maneuvering of the car is carried out using a rear view television system.
Security
The machine is equipped with a multilevel protection system. First of all, it is speed and maneuverability. Then a decrease in visibility in the radar, thermal and optical ranges. So, to reduce visibility in the radar range, the body of the machine has a special shape and is made with the use of special materials and coatings. One of the measures to reduce the thermal signature is the use of non-illuminated night vision devices.
The next level of protection is the self-protection system against detection by laser radiation. When the vehicle is irradiated by a laser source, the crew is notified of this, and blinding smoke grenades are fired in the direction of the radiation source. And finally, the armor protection. The crew of the vehicle is protected from being hit by ammunition from a 35-mm cannon in the front hemisphere. Mine protection of the vehicle is made at the level of modern tanks.
