However, the military quickly renamed the novelty "Terminator" - this is both more solid, and much more accurately conveys the purpose of the machine. The military was forced to start the development of BMPTs by the changed conditions of combat. Previously, we naively prepared for some kind of global confrontation of tank armada, but now life makes us fight with partisans or militants. You probably remember what losses of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles we suffered during the assault on Grozny in 1995. When any building serves as the perfect cover for a grenade launcher, a tank won't last long. This means that we need to give him something to help him, which would quickly and often shatter the walls of houses, turning the enemies hidden behind them into mincemeat. At the same time, it would be nice to cover this "something" with reliable armor. Based on these considerations, the designers created the "Frame" on the basis of the famous T-90 tank, supplying it with a multi-fuel engine for a thousand "horses". It is impossible to escape from the "Frame" even through potholes: a car rushing at a speed of 60 km / h jumps over three-meter ditches and easily crawls over one and a half meter walls!
By the way, being a completely new type of weaponry, BMPT does not fall under the CFE Treaty (Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe). This class of equipment simply did not yet exist at the time the contract was drawn up, because "Frame-99" is neither a tank nor an armored vehicle. This means that no one will forbid us to stock up on more of them.
