The main purpose of the "Tiger-M" MKTK REI PP is to conduct radio reconnaissance, detect radio emission sources, set up radio suppression and interference of radio electronic devices. Additional opportunities are jamming or imitation of the operation of radio electronic devices during field tests of various weapons and equipment. All the capabilities of the new complex are not advertised, and the developers declare that this mobile electronic warfare complex has no foreign counterparts. The Russian military department has already planned the purchase of a small series of such complexes for staffing electronic warfare troops.
Another proof of the versatility of the domestic armored car "Tiger" is an electronic warfare machine based on the armored car "Tiger-M" with the installed equipment "Leer-2" (MKTK REI PP). The development of armored vehicles "Tiger" began in the early 90s; the first "Tigers" entered trial operation in 2002 in a subdivision of the Moscow SOBR. The Tiger goes into serial production in 2005. At the moment, more than 20 projects and modifications of the Tiger car for civil and military purposes are known. The latest announced novelties based on the Tiger armored vehicle are a mobile ATGM equipped with a Kornet-EM ATGM of the same name and a Tiger MK-BLA-01 mobile version for controlling the Lastochka and Strekoza drones.
Recently, VNII "Etalon", the developer of the "Leer-2" equipment for jamming, imitation and technical control of electronic warfare "MKTK REI PP", proposed to install it on the domestic armored vehicle "Tigr-M". The new development of LLC "VPK" and VNII "Etalon" - "Tigr-M" MKTK REI PP, in which the electronic warfare equipment naturally fit into the chassis "Tigr-M". Now this complex will be able to carry out its work at the forefront of a possible military conflict, which will provide increased efficiency of electronic warfare.
The Russian military, in particular from the electronic warfare troops, have long been waiting for a special vehicle with electronic warfare equipment on a light wheeled chassis. All previously supplied electronic warfare vehicles were built on the basis of trucks or on the basis of caterpillar-type transporters. Such machines have disadvantages of low maneuverability, large dimensions and, which is quite important today, high fuel consumption. New electronic warfare vehicles based on the Tiger-M armored vehicles are highly mobile, small-sized and sufficiently protected electronic warfare vehicles of a new generation.
Armored vehicle Tigr-M
VPK-233114 or Tigr-M is a special transport vehicle known as an armored vehicle for army purposes, intended for moving personnel and cargo, mounting weapons and equipment for further use and towing trailed cargo. For the first time, an armored vehicle appeared in the public eye in 2009, when the military-industrial complex released the first prototype "Tiger-M". In 2010, "Tiger-M" successfully pass state tests, after which they immediately release a trial batch for use in the armed forces of the Russian Federation. Serial deliveries to army units begin in 2011. "Tiger-M" are in service with the armies of Uruguay, Brazil and Russia.
The main changes and equipment of the Tiger-M:
- a powerful engine of the multi-fuel type diesel YaMZ 5347-10 was installed, provided with a turbocharging and cooling of an intermediate version;
- installed bridges with forced locking differentials;
- improved braking mechanisms are installed;
- additional controlled brake provided by a damper in the exhaust pipe;
- the engine hood receives armor protection from small arms;
- crossbar locks;
- installed an improved door sealing system;
- air conditioner and FVU-100A-24 installation;
- improved pre-start heater PZhD-16;
- electric winch;
- increased the number of transported personnel - 9 people.
Near future
At the moment, it is known about the joint development of domestic enterprises of a new modification of the BA "Tiger" for army special forces.
Perspectives
A bright future awaits for armored vehicles "Tiger" - sufficient reserved internal volume, high carrying capacity, security and increased maneuverability will allow this vehicle to be used as a base for various weapons and equipment, both military and civilian. This means that the "Tiger" will be constantly improved and modernized, and very soon we will see the most modern developments, at least not inferior to world analogues.
