The gravest crisis of the military education system

There are few who doubt that the current military education system in Russia is going through a grave crisis. Obviously, those who started this reform of military education do not really understand what they want to get at the exit, and someone even deliberately destroys the old system, according to the principle "we will destroy the old world to the ground", and then it will be clear what to do next … Within the framework of the "de-Sovietization" of the state.

Although it is clear that military education needs to be reformed, for this it is necessary to clearly answer the questions: what kind of army do we need, what is its main goal? If you need a "pocket army" for parades and joint exercises with a "friendly" NATO bloc, then everything is being done correctly, it is necessary to "optimize" the army and military education even further. If the army must meet all the threats of the 21st century: from gangs of neobassmachi and "ghosts", small but well-armed armies of neighboring countries such as the Georgian army, to massive industrial armies such as Turkey and China, high-tech threats from the United States and other NATO countries. And then the reforms should be aimed at creating simultaneously a high-tech army and an army with large trained reserves, mobilization capabilities to repel a potential threat from China. And Europe is only currently not ready to conduct serious operations on land fronts. Who can say with 100% certainty that in 5-10 years, against the background of hatred of migrants and nationalist sentiments, the "neo-Fuehrer" will not come to power there?

In Russia, with the help of "military reforms", the destinies of hundreds of thousands of people who have been dismissed in recent years have been broken, and not only officers, but also warrant officers, warrant officers. People who have tied their lot with serving the Fatherland. For the second year now, there is no admission to the remaining military universities. And the training system will be rebuilt to meet NATO standards: from this year all military academies will switch to 6-10 month training courses. The American (NATO) military education system is based on the fact that a young man, after receiving higher education, who decided to devote his life to serving in the US Armed Forces, completes two-year officer courses, after which he is sent to serve in the troops. As he moves up the career ladder, as he occupies a new next step, he goes through certain courses for several months, for example, a company commander, after which he is engaged in company command.

In principle, this is not a bad system, but in the US Army, it has been worked out for years and has developed into a coherent system, then we are only trying to do something, as a result, we get another attempt to introduce Western standards in Russia. And what this leads to can be clearly seen from the example of secondary and higher education in the Russian Federation, it only degrades even more. In the United States, there is no shortage of the officer corps, there are enough young people who want to serve in the army after a civilian university. For this, various kinds of material incentives, benefits, incentives have been created. It is prestigious to be an officer.

It's not prestigious in our country, besides, what kind of education will officers receive in two years of training? Obviously not the highest, in order to complete it, you will have to go to more than one course. But all sorts of curls will be happy - solid savings! Military universities were reduced, their property was mastered, people were fired, there will be no need to teach cadets for 5 years, and there will be much less of them. Truth. This is the economy on the security of the state, and it always goes sideways, first of all to the people, who will then have to restore the "gaps" of peacetime with their lives.

In this regard, the Soviet system, with all its shortcomings, which needed to be corrected, and not destroyed all at once, was much more thoughtful. During the Soviet era, the military education system was three-tier, or even four-tier: Suvorov, Nakhimov schools - military schools - academies of various types of troops - the Academy of the General Staff. Children entered the Suvorov and Nakhimov schools after the eighth grade, and after them they could be admitted as ready-made cadets to military schools without exams. After graduating from military schools, they received a diploma, which was equated to an all-Union diploma of higher education.

After graduating from military schools, young lieutenants in various specialties received were sent to the corresponding types and branches of the military, where they served for 7-8 years. After an officer reached a certain level - usually a battalion commander or a deputy regiment commander - education had to be continued. Now they were already sent to study at academies, for example: the Military Academy of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense and Engineering Troops named after Marshal of the Soviet Union SK Timoshenko, founded in 1932 in Kostroma; or the Military Academy. MV Frunze, was founded in 1918 in Moscow. Military academies of different types of troops trained senior commanders for the USSR Armed Forces, from the level of the regiment commander to the division commander. The training lasted three years, after which they returned to the troops. Some of them, who showed the best success in the preparation of their units, showed themselves well in "hot spots", then entered the Academy of the General Staff - created in 1855 as the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff; since 1918 the Academy of the General Staff of the Red Army. The Academy of the General Staff graduated the highest command personnel for the Armed Forces, the commanders who controlled corps, armies, military districts, became the top leadership of the Armed Forces of the Soviet Union.

The Soviet system, which existed for almost 60 years and was tested by the Great Patriotic War, has now been completely destroyed. According to the reformers, it was not flexible and did not meet the requirements of the new era.

But there are big doubts about what will be created in return and whether they will create? Time passes, and the threats on the planet to our Motherland and the people have not diminished, on the contrary, due to the general weakening of Russia, the enemies have only become more active. In fact, at present, the situation with military education is catastrophic.
