The Rosgvardia units are entrusted with the solution of a variety of tasks related to ensuring order and the safety of the civilian population. Some of these tasks, due to their specifics, require the use of special equipment and technology. One example of the latter is the RHM-VV reconnaissance chemical vehicle, which has recently entered service.
Relatively long ago, the UAZ-469rh reconnaissance chemical vehicle (PXM), built on the basis of a widespread multi-purpose automobile chassis, was adopted by the internal troops. Over time, this car became outdated and required replacement. At the beginning of this decade, the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched the Razrukha-1 development work, during which it was planned to create a modern RHM based on a new chassis with higher characteristics.
ROC "Razrukha-1" was launched in 2011. Soon, the customer, represented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Internal Troops, chose a contractor who was to develop a new project. The work was performed by the Vector Special Design Center (Moscow). In addition, enterprises of the automotive and instrument-making industries participated in the project as suppliers of various units. The design continued for several years, and in 2013 the Vector Center was able to show the first real results of the new project.
In the fall of 2013, Moscow hosted the next international exhibition "Interpolitech", during which domestic enterprises showed already known and new developments. The Vektor enterprise brought to the exhibition the first prototype of the reconnaissance vehicle, created during the Razrukha-1 R&D project. Along with the model, visitors to the exhibition could see some of the special equipment and advertising materials. The following year, the Interpolitex-2014 exhibition became a platform for the first demonstration of a full-fledged prototype.
As it was announced during the "premiere show" of the layout, the new model of equipment received the official designation RHM-VV - "Reconnaissance chemical vehicle, internal troops." Also, in relation to the sample, the code of the entire program was used - "Ruin-1". In later materials, both names appear.
At the exhibition "Interpolitex-2014" it was stated that the enterprises participating in the project are ready to start mass production of equipment in the very near future. The start of deliveries could have been set as early as 2015. The cost of one reconnaissance vehicle with a full set of equipment reached 36 million rubles.
In the future, an experienced reconnaissance chemical vehicle several times participated in new exhibitions organized by the military department and other structures. In parallel with the demonstration of the finished equipment, the developer and the customer continued the necessary work. RHM-VV passed the necessary tests, based on the results of which certain conclusions were drawn. Apparently, the technique received good reviews, which made it possible to continue training for its full service.
Several days ago it became known that the RKhM-VV "Razrukha-1" vehicle had reached trial operation. Now the experimental equipment has been transferred to one of the divisions of the radiation, chemical and biological protection of the Russian Guard, which will have to conduct a new check and assessment. Probably, in the foreseeable future, the current project will end with the deployment of full-fledged mass production and the start of deliveries of equipment to combat units.
The RHM-VV project proposes the construction of a self-propelled protected vehicle equipped with a set of special equipment for conducting radiation, chemical and biological reconnaissance in various conditions. To study the conditions on the ground, the car was equipped with a set of detectors for various purposes. In addition, there are facilities on board to collect air, soil and water samples for delivery to the laboratory.
As the basis for the Razrukha-1 reconnaissance vehicle, the VPK-233136 Tiger two-axle armored vehicle, previously created in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was taken. This vehicle has an armored body with a bonnet configuration corresponding to the 5th class of protection. A diesel engine of Yaroslavl production is used, coupled with a mechanical transmission. Cross-country ability on all terrains is provided by a four-wheel chassis built on the basis of an independent torsion bar suspension.
During the construction of the RXM-BB, the base car does not undergo significant changes. A single internal compartment of the case is divided into two volumes by means of a sealed partition. The front compartment serves as a control compartment, while the rear compartment accommodates special equipment and the workplace of a reconnaissance chemist. Also, some of the equipment had to be mounted on the roof of the case and on the rear door. Some instruments are portable and designed for use outside the cab. For their storage, there are appropriate styling.
A certain increase in work efficiency is achieved through the automation of some processes. Crew workstations are equipped with a set of various consoles to control the operation of all onboard equipment. In this case, some procedures are carried out automatically with minimal human intervention.
Onboard "Razrukha-1" there are radiation detectors that allow detecting α-, β- and γ-radiation, as well as measuring its parameters. Various types of gas analyzers are used for chemical reconnaissance. The presence of the latter, in particular, allows the crew of the vehicle to conduct reconnaissance both on the spot and from a certain distance. In the latter case, it is proposed to use a laser system. Regardless of the method of use, onboard equipment is capable of detecting chemical warfare agents, toxins and aerosols of biological agents in the air.
The crew has at their disposal a compact set of meteorological observation equipment. Using the data generated by this system, experts can predict the spread of threats and assess risks. The complex is portable. Due to the lack of space inside the base vehicle, it is proposed to deploy it on the ground after arriving at a given position.
Moving through the contaminated area, RHM-VV "Razrukha-1" can mark dangerous areas, for which it is equipped with an automated marking system. A throwing device with several barrel glasses for signal flags is attached to the spare wheel mounts located on one of the aft door leaves. While the vehicle is moving, flags are fired into the ground at a predetermined interval, marking the border of the dangerous terrain. A stock of flags is stored in the appropriate stowage of the vehicle's internal compartment in case the ready-to-use "ammunition" is used up.
The crew of the reconnaissance chemical vehicle consists of three people. In the front compartment of the hull, which serves as the control compartment, the driver chemist and the commander are located. The aft compartment with special equipment is intended only for a reconnaissance chemist. When rebuilt in RHM, the armored car retains a full set of standard glazing, which provides a good view of the road and the surrounding area. The doors also remain in their places: it is proposed to enter the control compartment through the side doors, and into the rear compartment through the aft compartment.
The inhabited volumes are made sealed and equipped with a collective system of protection against weapons of mass destruction. To transmit data about the current situation and the results of reconnaissance, the RHM-VV crew has a radio station.
The Razrukha-1 project does not provide for the use of any weapons placed on the reconnaissance vehicle. In case of an enemy attack, the RHM-VV has only a block of smoke grenade launchers. Six barrels are located in the front left part of the roof of the armored car and are intended for firing into the front hemisphere. The crew must have personal weapons that can be used for self-defense.
Despite the presence of new equipment and specific tasks, the new reconnaissance chemical vehicle in its size, weight and running characteristics is almost the same as the basic armored car "Tiger". The length of the RKhM-VV "Razrukha-1" is slightly less than 6 m, the width is 2.4 m, the height is about 2.5 m. The curb weight is declared at the level of 8 tons.
Having retained the power plant and the chassis of the serial armored car, the RHM-BB receives similar mobility indicators. The maximum speed on the highway reaches 110-120 km. However, when conducting reconnaissance, the speed of movement is limited to 30 km / h, which is necessary for the correct operation of special equipment.
According to reports in 2015, an experienced chemical reconnaissance vehicle for the internal troops was undergoing the necessary tests, according to the results of which it could enter service in the very near future. However, new messages about the fate of the RHM-VV project had to wait for more than two years. It was only in October 2017 that it became known that the new special equipment was put into operation in parts of the Russian National Guard Defense Plant of the Russian Guard.
Over time, new reconnaissance vehicles of the RHM-VV type will have to replace the outdated equipment of their class. Thanks to this, the units of radiation, chemical and biological protection will be able to more effectively solve their main tasks. In addition, the use of the new base vehicle will reduce the risks when completing missions. From the latest reports, it follows that the Russian Guard in the very near future will be able to fully realize all the advantages of the new technology.
