You can't live without women
In the world, no!
You are our happiness
As the poet said!
It's hard to keep my word
And I fall in love again
In you every time
For an hour!
Operetta "Silva". Boney's couplets
Weapons and firms. Modern business, including arms business, is a very complicated business. For example, you are an excellent engineer, you can significantly improve any design (and have improved it!), But no one buys your products. And why? Because you yourself, tired of sitting at the monitor, are trying to sell it. You call wholesalers, arms stores, and they refuse you everywhere. You are completely bewildered, but the whole point is that you have an unpleasant timbre of voice, too harsh, for example, and you just do not know how to remove objections. They didn't teach you this, an engineer, that's all. But then you found a smart advisor, advised you not to be greedy, not to strive to do everything yourself, but to hire a sensible specialist in removing objections. Plus one more - on public relations, and a blonde, so that her legs are out of her shoulders and in a red suit, with a skirt like "don't drop anything, but drop it, don't pick it up," and besides, in red, again, underwear and who knows how drop something when necessary. He did all this, and things went smoothly. Journalists began to write well about him. Wholesalers - to place orders, and then the reviews of critics arrived: the product was really good, that's what is important. This is how things went for this engineer. And it happens that women give smart advice to engineers - and this is how weapons firms achieve success!
So with the American firm CMMG, everything happened exactly the same. It was founded in 2002 when brothers John and Jeff Overstreet, together with their wives Gretchen and Stephanie (that is, two consanguineous couples!), Decided to create a high quality AR rifle that everyone can afford. The men took up technology, and their wives made useful connections. All decisions about new products were discussed and made together, the opinions of the wives were not ignored, but taken quite seriously. And here's the result: since then, the situation with the production and sale of the company's products has become better day by day! They themselves write really wonderful things about themselves, many would like to learn from them:
“While our business continues to thrive, one thing remains unchanged - our commitment to meet every morning to pray for God's wisdom in order to cope with the enormous responsibility that business imposes. We swear that it is thanks to his grace that we grow every year! CMMG is constantly looking for new ways to improve its products and the company as a whole. Both our customer service and product line are still unmatched. (What a great statement, isn't it ?! Except that we don't have comparative advertising! - Author's note.) All our rifles and firearm parts are made in the United States from the finest materials. CMMG guarantees that it will be free from defects during the entire life cycle of the product. In the event of a breakdown or defect, CMMG Inc. will immediately repair or replace any of our products."
It would seem that in the United States only the lazy does not produce the "arch" (AR) rifles, which, by the way, could be fully verified on the materials of previous publications (see the collection of links at the end of the article). They also began to be made in Germany, in Italy. But it was CMMG who approached their release very creatively, including the Mk47 Mutant rifle in the line of samples - a semi-automatic rifle of 7, 62 × 39 mm caliber, chambered for the Russian Kalashnikov assault rifle. Moreover, it can work with all types of magazines for cartridges 7, 62 mm, including steel, polymer and drum.
The start of production of the Mk47 was publicly announced in 2014. And already in 2015, CMMG released its first production Mk47s for sale throughout the United States. The advertising brochure stated that the rifle "is distinguished by the endurance of the 47th AK, the ergonomics of the AR-15 and high firing accuracy." On the pages "VO" you can read about the family of small arms under the general name "Banshee" (Kirill Ryabov, "Rifles and pistols of the CMMG Banshee family"), but the Mk47 does not belong to this family.
According to CMMG Production Manager Tyson Bradshaw, CMMG
“Made this rifle out of the need to give consumers a reliable American-made rifle that could properly use the 7.62x39mm rounds. That is, CMMG was required to "make" a rifle around this caliber, adjusting all its technical solutions exactly to the characteristics of this cartridge. Using AK magazines was the obvious choice as they are known to be some of the most reliable and affordable in the world and work great with tapered sleeve chucks.”
Well, it's nice to read this, however, no one has ever denied our merits in the creation of weapons. We still have problems with some other devices, but this is also a matter of time. After all, how many years have they had a market and how long have we had it ?!
At the SHOT Show 2015, CMMG representatives announced the possibility of making a version of the same rifle based on a caliber 5, 45 × 39 mm cartridge.
So what is the Mk47 Mutant, this Kalashnikov / American arch hybrid? First of all, this rifle has a larger receiver, since it is intended for the bolt from the AR-10 rifle, the bolt handle is also larger, and its upper and lower receivers are made of 7075-T6 aluminum alloy.
The rifle has a pistol grip taken from an AR-15, a fuse, a standard trigger from the same rifle, and a buffer tube with a spring. The Mk47 has a gas engine based on direct exhaust gas into the receiver. Outwardly, however, the Mutant differs markedly from both the AR-10 and the AR-15 primarily in the absence of a magazine shaft. After all, it is not on the Kalashnikov, and here the creators of the new rifle had to do without it.
However, this did not affect the rigidity of the magazine attachment. And its significantly curved shape immediately catches the eye, despite the fact that its forend is traditionally American - octahedral, with perforations on all six of its lateral surfaces. The upper surface of the forend is a solid Picatinny plate, on which you can install a whole arsenal of all kinds of sights.
It would be strange if CMMG did not immediately start producing a variety of versions of this rifle. Today, the pistol version of the CMMG Mk47K is known with a 254 mm barrel with a tapered profile, a Magpul pistol grip and a single action trigger from CMMG.
CMMG Mk47 K, Short Barrel Rifle variant - the same characteristics as the K pistol, but only with the addition of the Magpul CTR stock.
CMMG Mk47 Mutant AKM. It has a 408 mm barrel with a muzzle brake, and everything else is the same as in previous models.
CMMG Mk47 Mutant AKM CA, "Carbine". It has a 456 mm barrel with a medium-tapered profile with a muzzle brake and a single action trigger from CMMG.
CMMG Mk47 Mutant AKM 2 CA. Has the same characteristics as the AKM CA, but with a different trigger.
CMMG Mk47 Mutant T CA. It features a 6-position folding A4 stock and an A2 pistol grip.
CMMG Mk47 AKS13. Released in 2016, features a 332mm barrel and a Krink muzzle.
The Mk47 passed several reliability tests and passed all of them successfully. So we can say that this company has succeeded in this weapon.
By the way, the weight of the unloaded rifle does not even reach 3.5 kg! Among the features of its design is also the shutter from the AR-10, which was shortened to a length of 203 mm, but at the same time made more massive, which had a positive effect on its strength.
As already noted, the shop counter works with all standard AK magazines. This is a huge plus because these stores are simple, world famous and widely available. The standard reloading method also migrated to the MK47 from the AK. In the basic configuration, the rifle comes with one Magpul magazine for 30 rounds and … a lifetime quality guarantee! Barrel "free hanging" with 10 grooves.
The "mutant" is on fire!
Due to the high accuracy and destructive power of the Soviet Mk47 cartridge, according to representatives of CMMG Inc., "… is the ideal multi-purpose rifle that will find applications in many areas."
Well, the market is the market, let's see how things go with this company of two men and two women!
