As promised, we continue to acquaint our readers with the news of the Russian military-industrial complex….

In December 2011, in Klimovsk, near Moscow, on the basis of the Central Research Unit TSNIITOCHMASH, complexes, samples of weapons and combat equipment systems offered by Russian enterprises of the military-industrial complex for the Russian Armed Forces were demonstrated. High Command of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Participants of the operational special gathering of officers of the Ground Forces got acquainted with the practical use of a number of developments demonstrated at TsNIITOCHMASH on the second day as part of the event at a special training ground and at the location of the 4th separate guards tank Kantemirovskaya brigade.

1. Automatic easel grenade launcher AGS-17 "Flame" (index GRAU 6G10)

AGS-17 "Flame" is one of the most effective weapons of the ground forces, which has proven itself in military operations in Afghanistan and the North Caucasus. The grenade launcher is quite compact, reliable, easy to transport and carry, but at the same time it has a high combat effectiveness comparable to light infantry mortars of 50mm caliber.

3. Grenades (shots) for underbarrel and hand grenade launchers of 40mm caliber

New types of grenades (shot) for the GP-25 "Koster" / GP-30 "Obuvka" / GP-34 underbarrel grenade launchers. Shooting from them is possible when mounted on 5, 45-mm AK74 assault rifles (AKS74, AK74M, AK107, AEK-971, AN-94), 5, 56-mm AK101, AK108, and AEK-971 assault rifles, as well as on 7, 62 mm AKM assault rifles (AKMS, AK103, AK109, AEK-973). With this ammunition, it is possible to fire from hand-held grenade launchers of the RG-6 type (index GRAU 6G-30).

8. Special underwater 4.5mm pistol SPP-1M

A four-shot pistol for firing underwater, used by special units of the Russian Navy. When firing, special cartridges ATP (4, 5x39) are used with bullets of large elongation in the form of a rod with a double truncated cone. Stabilization of a bullet in water is carried out due to the formation of a cavitation cavity around the bullet during movement. The pistol is easy to use, reliable and highly effective when firing underwater at a distance of up to 20m.

9. Special underwater 5.66mm machine gun APS

A special submachine gun APS for firing under water, used by special units of the Russian Navy. When firing, special cartridges MPS (5, 45x39) are used with bullets of large elongation in the form of a rod with a double truncated cone. The sleeve is used from cartridge 5, 45x39, it contains a propelling powder charge, which ejects a bullet from the barrel and activates the weapon's automation, based on the use of the energy of gases discharged from the hole in the wall of the barrel. Stabilization of a bullet in water is carried out due to the formation of a cavitation cavity around the bullet during movement. The assault rifle is easy to use, reliable and highly effective when firing underwater at a distance of up to 30m.
