The PP-2000 submachine gun was developed by the Tula gunsmiths in 2001 and is intended for anti-terror units. The PP-2000 submachine gun was developed personally by the head of the direction of automatic small arms and cannon armament of the Tula State Unitary Enterprise "Instrument Design Bureau" (GUP KBP), Professor VP Gryazev. In addition to him, KBP weapons specialists B. A. Volkov, B. I. Kuznetsov and others participated in the work on the PP-2000.
• Range of destruction of PP-2000 up to 300 meters. This is the first Russian pistol after the collapse of the USSR, which surpasses all European counterparts of submachine guns. The highest density of fire in close combat is the main advantage of the PP-2000. The designers have reduced to the minimum number all the parts used when creating it. The submachine gun is made in a comfortable shape, which is suitable for concealed carry.
• The submachine gun is created from a combination of plastic parts of the machine gun body and ordinary metal parts for firing a shot. Plastic parts will not suffer from corrosion, in cool weather they do not have a cooling effect when touched. To reduce the unmasking effect when using a submachine gun, it is equipped with a slotted flash suppressor. Thanks to these innovations, the PP-2000 weighs less than one and a half kilograms and is disassembled in less than 30 seconds.
• This model has already been exhibited by domestic developers at the Interpolitex-2006 exhibition, which was held in Moscow. The PP-2000 submachine gun was finally ready and went into production in 2006 for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. Currently, submachine guns PP-2000 are used by individual units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and adopted by the Federal Bailiff Service.
• For aiming, the PP-2000 is equipped with a standard front sight and a reversible front sight. The submachine gun has one interesting development - the use of the 9x19 "Parabellum" cartridge. According to the developers, this is due to the fact that the PP-2000 is primarily intended for the police forces using weapons for stopping action. This is due to the fact that the use of weapons with a caliber of 5, 45 mm has less stopping effect compared to weapons of a caliber of 9 mm. A 9 mm bullet imparts large kinetic energy to the criminal's body and affects a large area of the body, which acts as a stopping factor.
• The submachine gun can be equipped with a collimator sight or a sight for night use. The fuse is made on the left side of the submachine gun, the firing mode translator is also located there, the PP-2000 is cocked using a handle located above the receiver. It is worth turning it left or right, and the weapon is cocked.
• The barrel has a chrome plating. By the type of automation, the PP-2000 submachine gun refers to a weapon with a free shutter. A hammer-type firing mechanism that provides burst and single fire firing. Before starting firing, the cartridge is located in the chamber, and the bolt is in its forward position, which closes the bore. This kind of shooting is called "from the front sear".
• The rate of fire of a domestic submachine gun is up to 10 rounds per second. Compared to other domestic and foreign small-sized submachine guns, the PP-2000 has the lowest rate of fire. This was achieved without the use of a special retarding device, mainly due to the rational design of the dynamic parameters of the trigger and the characteristics of its mainspring.
• Note one more feature of the ammunition - when firing a shot, a bullet, flying out of the barrel and hitting an obstacle, does not ricochet, which gives unique opportunities to use a submachine gun in closed rooms and confined spaces to free hostages or neutralize dangerous criminals.
• In addition to the usual 9-mm cartridges, the designers have provided for the use of armor-piercing cartridges with a steel core. The armor-piercing bullet of the 7N31 cartridge is capable of piercing steel sheets 3 mm thick at a distance of 90 meters, 5 mm at a distance of up to 50 meters and 8 mm at a distance of up to 15 meters. This ensures the effectiveness of the PP-2000 in the fight against opponents in personal protective equipment (helmets, body armor), and also allows you to hit targets located behind obstacles and inside vehicles.
• Another revision of the Tula designers is a spare clip with 44 ammunition. The PP-2000 has a folding stock, and here the developers again applied Russian ingenuity - the additional clip easily fits into the place of the stock and performs its functions. This is very convenient in the conduct of hostilities - the additional magazine can be easily removed from the butt, which allows you to continue the battle without looking for an additional clip in the equipment.
• PP-2000 - the best submachine gun in its class and significantly outperforms all other submachine guns in terms of basic characteristics and effectiveness of combat use, for example, the widespread MP-5 submachine gun from Heckler & Koch. Moreover, this efficiency should be ensured by shooters of average level of firepower training.
