According to the state armament program until 2020, the Sevmash plant turned out to be one of several factories loaded with state orders at full capacity.
In addition to the already announced orders, which are already being produced at the plant, in 2012 the creation of the nuclear submarines Borey-A and Yasen-M will begin. It is also possible to build diesel submarines "Amur-1650", which, possibly, will soon be purchased by India. "Cupids" will carry "Brahmos", which are a joint development of Indian and Russian designers. The rocket is based on the export version of the Russian P-800 Onyx - Alliance.
Sevmash - we are already building Borey-A
In fact, work on the construction of the modernized "Borey-A" at the plant has already begun, reports General Director of "Sevmash" A. Dyachkov. This will be the fourth submarine of the Borey-A series. 80 percent of the submarine's hull has already been assembled on the stocks, and they promise to collect 100 percent of the hull by the end of 2011.
And all this is done by the plant even before the start of the contract for the construction of this ship.
At this time, the plant is successfully completing the Borey series - "Alexander Nevsky" and "Vladimir Monomakh", and "Yuri Dolgoruky" is conducting various tests of the "Bulava" missiles, which will equip all submarines of the Borey series. A total of 8 submarines Borey-A and Borey will be commissioned.
Brief characteristics:
- designer - St. Petersburg "Rubin";
- armament - 16 launchers BR "Bulava";
- additional equipment - a rescue chamber that can accommodate the entire crew.
- length - 170 meters;
- width - 13.5 meters;
- maximum immersion depth - 450 meters;
- crew - 107 people
Modernized nuclear submarine "Ash"
The modernized Yasen-M submarines will allow Russia to maintain its leadership in the submarine segment capable of destroying heavy surface ships. In total, it is planned to create five such submarines.
Brief characteristics:
- displacement - up to 13.8 thousand tons;
- length - 120 meters;
- width - 13.5 meters;
- height - 9.5 meters;
- maximum immersion depth - 600 meters;
- speed - up to 31 knots;
- crew - 90 people.
"Severodvinsk" - the first submarine of this project - will leave the stocks in 2012. Although the submarine was supposed to go to sea this year, according to the General Director of Sevmash, this became impossible due to low-quality parts received to complete the construction of Severodvinsk and the fact that a missile system was installed that did not pass the state test.
Hope for a quick successful completion of the test of the Kalibr missiles, the latest missile that will be adopted by the submarines of this series.
Also, the General Director of Sevmash said that the profit from the production of submarines will be no more than 12 percent, which is reflected in the permanent orders.
Indian diesel engines "Amur"
In the middle of next year, there will be a tender for the construction of diesel submarines for the Indian Navy. The plant will present the Amur-1650 with improved combat characteristics to the tender. "Sevmash" continues to refine the boat, having already placed in it launchers for vertical "BrahMos" missiles. This revision will make it possible to deliver a salvo missile strike against enemy surface ships. As the designers of TsSKB "Rubin" assure, they have managed to significantly reduce the noise threshold of the submarine submarine "Amur", in addition, they will be equipped with modern electronic equipment and weapons. The project is equipped with an automated control system, technical and combat units. The submarine is equipped with a new multi-mode propeller engine and a battery pack with an extended service life.
Brief characteristics:
- displacement - 1.8 thousand tons;
- length - 67 meters;
- width - 7 meters;
- underwater speed - up to 21 knots;
- duration of autonomous sailing - 1.5 months;
- crew - 35 people.
Not only Russia will take part in the tender. Spain, Germany and France want to participate in it. This is a $ 10 billion contract.
The plant does not exclude the possibility that part of the Varshavyanka diesel submarines can be transferred for construction to Sevmash from the Admiralty Shipyards.
Construction of surface ships
"Admiral Nakhimov".
Work on the modernization of this project has been suspended for the most part due to the fact that the military department has not yet chosen the option to modernize the ship.
Design work on the modernization of the ship "Admiral Nakhimov" is carried out by the Northern Design Bureau, with which the military has signed a contract.
The main issue of modernization is the armament being installed, because the Granit missile, intended for installation, is no longer being produced. The design decision for the modernization and proposals for the installation of weapons for the "Admiral Nakhimov" should be completed at the beginning of the second quarter of 2012. It is known for sure that the main power plant will remain unchanged and will be atomic.
"Admiral Gorshkov"
This aircraft-carrying cruiser is being modernized by order of India, the ship's readiness at the moment is 90 percent. The upgraded ship will be handed over to the Indian military next year.
By the way, the plant is ready to build a domestic aircraft carrier if such a state order is received. Sevmash has everything you need for the complete construction of an aircraft carrier.
Additional Information
The rumors about the possible disposal of the submarine "Dmitry Donskoy" have been put to an end. According to the general director of the Sevmash plant, the strategic nuclear submarine Dmitry Donskoy will not be recycled.
The plant agreed with the Russian military department that the submarine will be in the White Sea naval base for various tests of submarines under construction. This submarine will be used to train "boat on boat" combat modes, to check hydroacoustics and other equipment and weapons. Note that previously a submarine from the Northern Fleet was assigned for these tests, and it had to be distracted from combat duty.
Under the START III treaty between the United States and the Russian Federation, the Akula submarines will be removed from combat duty. We are talking about three submarines of this series. The Sevmash plant offers inexpensive modernization of these submarines for civilian submarines or underwater gas carriers.
