One of the main novelties of recent times is the Uran-6 robotic mine-clearing complex. This system, built on the basis of a remotely controlled vehicle, is designed to clear various areas and perform some related tasks. The military first showed this complex last year. On October 5 and 6, visitors to the Innovation Day of the Southern Military District were able to see the promising new type of equipment.
Multifunctional robotic demining complex (MRTK-R) "Uran-6" is a basic tracked vehicle with mounts for the installation of various special equipment. By installing the appropriate special equipment, the complex can make passages in minefields or clear large areas of terrain from explosive objects. The project of a promising robotic complex was developed by the Nakhabinsk OJSC "766 UPTK" ("Management of production and technological equipment").
The Uran-6 complex consists of several main elements. The main one is a small-sized light armored vehicle with remote control, which serves as a base platform. It provides universal attachment points for the installation of target equipment used in certain works. The complex includes sets of replaceable trawling and working equipment. The type of replacement equipment is selected in accordance with the current tasks.
Depending on the type of equipment installed, the total weight of the Uran-6 vehicle reaches 6-7 tons. Thus, the combat weight of a sapper with a striking trawl is 6.8 tons. When installing other equipment, the weight of the vehicle changes accordingly. Due to the specific field of application, the machine has a reservation that protects the internal units from fragments of detected and destroyed explosive devices. In addition, the attachment has some features that improve the protection of the base machine.
The basic machine of the complex is equipped with a 190 hp engine. This has a positive effect on the power density and mobility of the machine. At the same time, the maximum speed of the robot does not exceed 5 km / h. Trawling speed is slightly slower and depends on the conditions.
In the front of the armored vehicle, there are two levers on which special attachments are installed. Depending on the current tasks, the Uran-6 complex can use a striker, roller or milling trawl. In addition, a dozer blade and a rotary gripper blade have been developed. Thus, the robotic complex can not only clear minefields, but also perform some other tasks. For example, it is possible to clear small debris or move large debris of an acceptable weight.
When using a striking or milling trawl, MRTK-R "Uran-6" neutralizes explosive devices by their mechanical destruction or initiation of detonation. In the event of an explosion, the shock wave and debris are trapped by the structure of the trawl and the hull of the machine itself, so that it can continue its work. The roller trawl, in turn, due to the weight of its structure, triggers contact fuses and the subsequent detonation of mines.
According to the manufacturer, the Uran-6 complex is capable of destroying explosive devices weighing from 100 g to 4 kg. Regardless of the type of trawl used, a strip with a width of 1, 6 m is being cleaned. It is claimed that due to its high efficiency, the promising complex is capable of replacing 20 sapper specialists.
The sapper robot is controlled using a separate control panel. The available equipment ensures reliable communication between the control panel and the vehicle at distances up to 1000 m. Thus, the operator of the complex is at a sufficient distance from the vehicle and the explosions of mines found, so that he does not risk anything while performing the assigned task. To control the operation of the armored vehicle and its systems, all the necessary information and a signal from several video cameras are displayed on the console.
Last summer, MRTK-R "Uran-6" were delivered to the Chechen Republic to participate in the demining of one of the mountainous regions. In about two months, the complex cleared about 80 thousand square meters. m of agricultural land. In the course of this work, the sapper robot destroyed 50 explosive items.
Last year, it was reported that serial production should begin in the fall, and at the beginning of 2015, the first production vehicles will go to the troops of the Southern Military District. In the future, it was planned to continue construction and equip units of other military districts with the latest technology.
One of the Uran-6 complexes in service with the Southern Military District has recently become an exhibit at the Innovation Day exhibition. We present a photo review of this technique.
At the exhibition, the Uran-6 vehicle was equipped with a striking trawl
Due to its large mass, the striker trawl is equipped with its own wheels. Behind the shaft with strikers there is a curtain of chains, which holds back the fragments.

The shown complex, apparently, was used in real conditions. There are hit marks on the frontal part and on the sides
Undercarriage designed to protect individual components
Operator's primary surveillance tool is the front camera on a movable base
A set of means for ventilation and cooling of internal units is provided on the roof of the building.
Board and stern view
There is a large radiator in the stern
Information board
Radiator, roof grilles and exhaust pipe
Feed chamber with adjustable rotation angles
Engine shutdown panel in emergency situations
The console is covered with a side angle. Also visible are the hinges of the opening feed grate
On the sides of the car, army symbols and marks from fragments
Attachments of all types are mounted on special levers using universal mounts
Instead of a striker trawl, the Uran-6 machine can use a milling machine
The principle of operation of these units is similar - explosive devices are destroyed by moving elements.
There is also some similarity in the design of the cases.
Like the striker, the milling trawl is equipped with a chain curtain for additional protection of the base machine.
