We didn't want to write this article. Simply because the delusional conclusions of the Israeli portal "Mako" somehow repel one from a serious conversation on this topic. However, the published information aroused the interest of readers. Interest just like the servicemen (former or current) of the Russian army. And we decided to insert our opinion.
We emphasize right away that we are not ardent anti-Semites; moreover, we both treat the representatives of the Israeli people more than normally. So nothing personal, just facts.
Thanks to the portal for the fact that our army is not compared there with the Somali army or with other similar ones. However, it does not even compare with the Israeli one. Something in between Somalia and Romania, for example.
The portal admits that the Russian army possesses huge reserves of nuclear weapons. More precisely, nuclear warheads … But the delivery vehicles … In short, they will not deliver very well. Rather, they will "lose" their ammunition somewhere in the middle. You can't even talk about this seriously.
Our opinion, of course, is sharply different, and it is tempting to say in response: "Do you want to check?" But this, of course, is a frivolous remark in the smoke. But from the heart.
What is the main reason why the Russian army is a "colossus with feet of clay"? And the main thing is that this army is still not hired. Not contractual. So, it seems like the professionalism of the soldiers is lower. The Americans transferred the army "to a contract" and now have really trained units.
The Israelis even call the reason purely "Western" - there is no money to attract educated soldiers to contract service. Only from remote Siberian villages do young men agree to serve. So that's it, dear servicemen of the Russian army. Got where you come from? I just want to shout: "Long live Siberia, the forge of Russian military personnel!"
Is this so? Maybe there is really not enough money to switch to a contract basis?
Sheer, we beg your pardon, nonsense. The reason is not money. The reason is our enormity. We, Russia, are too huge to have an army everywhere that can stop an attack on our own. They are huge and … unevenly settled. There are only 140 million of us, and the area of the country … So, the task of the army, to be honest, is to hold back the first blow, "lay down on the bones", but not to let the enemy into the depths of the territory. And it will be others who will drive out the foe. Those in stock. Including you and me.
That is why it is impossible for today to completely cancel the call. This will be a betrayal of the country. Betrayal of the people. But in military specialties that require serious knowledge and skills, they have long been professionals. Has anyone seen a "conscript" operator of a launcher with nuclear weapons? Even the Airborne Forces were transferred to a contract. Those units that are in constant combat readiness. Conscripts, even if they stayed, serve in auxiliary units.
And what our conscripts are, just showed the "Military Olympiad", which we covered quite densely. It is doubtful that they were inferior to the "professionals" if they won the competition. According to available statistics, about half of the members of the Russian team are conscripts.
And right from the first point of the claims, the next one appears. There is no money in the Russian Defense Ministry for rearmament. Russian readers, we think, are now smiling. It is interesting that the authors will write about this … But we will not write anything. Let's just send our readers to the Victory Day parade on May 9 this year. Once again, look at plywood tanks, cardboard infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers, a paper plane … And "tin" soldiers exhausted by the service, unable to do anything. Just don't look at the breasts of most of these "incapable" ones. The military awards, according to the Israeli version, are props.
And now the tragic. Mako made an interesting conclusion. If by the decree of the President the losses in peacetime were classified, it means that these losses are enormous. They would have perished "not hugely" - they would have made no secret. The logic is clear.
Let us only allow ourselves to ask the Israelis, the people, for which, to our regret, war is a normal state. And in the Israeli army, soldiers do not die during their studies? Do not die in car accidents? Weapons not accidentally firing? The profession of a military man, and indeed of any person associated with weapons, is dangerous. It is dangerous, including the fact that a person deals with military weapons. Readers who served in combat units will probably remember throwing grenades with personnel. They will remember with humor. But in fact, the memories could become tragic.
To be honest, one of the authors had such an episode. It was done comically, and nobody's pants were damaged, but he was. A grenade, albeit a hand one, is a tame thing for a long time. Although, perhaps, the IM26 has some kind of special intelligence, we cannot judge.
Any army that is actually engaged in combat training incurs non-combat losses. So it was, and alas, it will be so. The army is a school for real men, in which life often becomes the payment for sloppiness. Whether it is the Russian army, the Israeli, the American, the Ukrainian … any.
I would like to dwell on the specific "holes" in our army, according to the Israeli portal.
Aviation. Just yesterday we spoke with one of the readers of the site, a former fighter pilot. Most of our fighters are on his account. So, may Alexey forgive us, his opinion will be decisive. Our "oldies" Su-27 and Su-30, not really straining, win imitation battles against the newest F-35s. Are there many such aircraft in service? Most of the main aircraft are F-16s and F-15s. So? Will the 15th and 16th "butt" on an equal footing with the 27th? Of course they will. The whole question is how long.
Moreover. Yesterday there was information about the supply of our MiG-31 to Syria. We have discussed this issue as well. The conclusion is nonsense. This cannot be, because this cannot be at all. Only a complete idiot can think that such a machine is needed in Syria.
But this does not prevent the Israelis from answering. Guys, what other aircraft can withstand the MiG-31 interceptor? All else being equal? That's right … Just something from the Internet. But not from real-life aircraft. How many 31s do we have? Here…
While writing this article, one of the authors got real pleasure from the realization that the troops to which he once belonged, in general, for Western counterparts is something beyond. We mean our electronic warfare units. The Israeli portal has tactfully bypassed this topic. It seems like we do not consider it at all. And in vain … Sits where necessary in the position of a young, but competent operator of the complex and with one hand can "fool" all the enemy's electronics in the reachable area. Where then will the "high-precision" bombs and shells fly? And the machine guns homing with the help of the computer, where will they start shooting?
And as if the times we have not 70 years ago, if that. It was simple then - I dived, walked along the railroad at low level, read the name of the station, took out the map from my boot … in short, I got my bearings. And in our time, if you sensibly "extinguish" the radar for a couple of minutes - that's it. In some cases, it is understandable that GPS will come to the rescue, display it. After leaving the capture and processing zone. But there are systems, after the application of which it will no longer come. For "Izya everything."
We will not even talk about self-landing of any cool drones. It happens … The technique is kind of like iron-plastic, breaks down. True, it is not clear why it breaks down on our airfields. But since there is an opportunity to break it like that, we will break it.
Another disadvantage of our army is tanks. Weak, you know, our T-72s against the Abrams. Or there "Leorpardov" and "Merkav" … And who can argue? In the Patriotic T-34, too, they tried not to let on direct fire with the "Royal Tigers". "Tigers" perfectly beat ISs. They beat me so hard that the German command issued a special order. Do not use "Tigers" against ISs.
What are we for? Against these same "Abrams" there is a T-90. They are also suitable against other "evil spirits". We are still silent about "Armata". But three hundred (we hope so far) of the 90s is power. Yes, about 10,000 other "kids".
According to our highly respected analysts, given the experience of the wars of modern Western armies and the United States, the Russian army can grind everything that is in Eastern Europe within a month. That is, for the fourth time we will approach Berlin much faster than the last three times.
In short, an Israeli portal launched a fake to appease European consumers. Or "for the domestic market." "We can, and we are not afraid of anything." Our army is the most "army" of all armies.
It's funny if it weren't so sad. Knowledge is power! Remember this poster from Soviet times? But for Europeans and Israelis "Ignorance is power!" Not knowing the strength of the one you are trying to induce submission is often a fatal mistake. I would like to believe that Western people will not make such a mistake.
