The end of the year is an unambiguous and thoroughly familiar business in terms of summing up the results. Including in the Ministry of Defense with neighbors. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are also summing up the results, publishing releases and information on the state of affairs in the Independent Army.

Why didn't I pass by? It's simple. They have already learned to lie, but, alas, not to use a calculator. Apparently, the calculator is a more terrible weapon than an ATGM, which is why the States did not supply this terrible weapon. And I have, and I seem to be able to use it.

Go.

Having made my way through the interpretations of the official Ukrainian language on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, I realized one more thing. It’s not just that all this is written in SUCH words. It is necessary that the brain of the one who wants to penetrate into a boil, pounding and jamming.

So that what should not enter the brain does not enter.

But something went in and even remained.

Combat losses

I'll start with some interesting numbers.

According to the certificate, which was bungled by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and then distributed by the Public Relations Department, in 2016, the combat losses of the Ukrainian army amounted to 211 human, non-combat - 256 human.

I use a terrible calculator, it turns out 467 human. We remember.

We will talk about the very fact that non-combat losses are higher than combat ones a little later. Now I'm more interested in another figure.

This figure was announced by Mr. Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak (attention!) On June 15 this year, speaking at the NATO headquarters in Brussels.

So, according to Poltorak, it turns out that the APU from January 1 to June 1, 2016 lost in battles 623 person. It is clear that Russia is to blame for everything with its absolutely irresponsible plan for a peaceful settlement, and so on.

Who, excuse me, is lying? Poltorak, who had to show the "product face" in front of the owners, talking about the hardest battles with the Russian Altai armored divisions, or the Defense Ministry officials who need to save blood from their nose on payments and compensations?

It is hard to say. Poltorak could lie. But what the Ministry of Defense has downplayed - don't take me to my grandmother.

I use the calculator again. The difference is 412 human.

And this, I will note, without taking into account the losses at Shyrokyne, this is without daily skirmishes and shelling along the entire front line, this is without the events at the Svetlodar arc. Damn it Holmes, how? Necromancy?

I will not speculate, but it is unambiguous that in the second half of the year the number of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could not have become less, because there were more battles. Of course, maybe she didn't. There are no specific figures yet. But for sure, if there were losses, then they could only increase the overall figure. But it cannot be reduced in any way.

In any case, a sudden decrease in combat losses from 623 to 211 the person will remain on the conscience of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Well, since the heads of any Ukrainian department are in complete order with their conscience, I think this moment can be closed and moved on to the next.

Non-combat losses

The figure of 256 people speaks of several things at once.

To begin with, it is worth considering in general what is behind this concept. If we use the academic definition, then non-combat losses include those who died from non-combat wounds, from diseases, who committed suicide, who were shot by a military tribunal.

In Ukraine, we had to take a step further and include such reasons as road traffic accidents and poisoning (including alcoholic ones) from this list.

Even the Ukrainian media are forced to cover what is happening in the army, which seems to be waging a war. However, there are more people losing as a result of drunkenness, hazing and showdown than on the front lines.

It turns out that a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has a much higher chance of dying not in battle, but after being poisoned with vodka or at the hands of his own "combat" comrades.

Everyone is trying to prove to us that “Ukraine is a ceeurope,” and that Russia was not even close in terms of freedoms and prospects. And great! We have already passed these prospects in due time. And I really don't want to stand nearby. So as not to splash the brains of another disillusioned with freedoms and prospects.

If in terms of economic development and rampant crime, Ukraine really plunged into the nineties of the last century, then in terms of the number of non-combat losses, it is even difficult to find a comparison where.

Probably somewhere in the middle of the 19th century, before the invention of antibiotics. And this is in the presence of field hospitals donated by the States. With a seemingly available staff of military psychologists. In the 21st century, Ukrainian soldiers die, like their colleagues, four hundred years ago.

As for outright criminality, which blooms in full bloom in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, so much has already been said about this that I do not want to repeat myself.

Technique

The same certificate from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine indicates the loss of equipment. If you believe the certificate, in 2016, as a result of combat damage, the loss of weapons and military equipment in the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to more than 100 units.

These are combat losses. How many were smashed in a drunken state, drowned, burned and incapacitated as a result of unprepared crews and technicians, sold to the LDNR, the certificate is silent.

And he is rightly silent. Technology is not people, and it is easier to write it off. So if by some miracle to get this information, the numbers would be mind-blowing.

But there is one clue in the help.

In 2016, the Ukrainian army received about 1,000 units of new (modernized) weapons and military equipment, and about 700 more units were repaired and returned to the Armed Forces.

Actually, the moment of truth. 700 pieces of weapons and equipment were repaired … after what? There are no direct indications of what disabled these units: the direct arms of the LDNR fighters or the curves of the Ukrainian Army. The fact is that only 700 units were repaired and returned. I wonder how much was thrown out due to the impossibility of repair?

And a few words should be said about new and "modernized" equipment and weapons.

It is no longer a secret, again, that Ukraine today is completely bankrupt with regard to international contracts for the supply of new weapons. Attention, the question: where will something new come from in the Armed Forces of Ukraine?

It is worth noting here that what is new for export is solid dollars today. And the new thing in the Ukrainian Armed Forces is the hryvnia, don't understand when. No, of course, there is something new in the Ukrainian army. But it is definitely not used in the ATO zone. To avoid, as they say. So that it does not work, as with the complexes of counter-battery warfare.

For exhibitions, parades, for special forces, which definitely will not break or push the militia.

You can, of course, consider the "new and modernized" machine guns "Maxim", which are used by the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the ATO zone. If so, then yes, it is taken on faith.

What conclusions can be drawn here? And all the same. Of course, the APU is still a force today. Especially on paper and statements from the command. But nevertheless, this is still a fairly large education, with the presence of military equipment.

Quality … Yes, as for the quality, reproaches will always go into the top ten. The current army of Ukraine is really not the same as it was two years ago. This is a different army.

But in light of all this, not in terms of forecasts, but in terms of predictions, I would like to say the following. Yes, the path traversed by the Ukrainian army from complete decline to complete moral decay is impressive. A long road, a government tent in the field, someone else's peak interest. Basically, that's it.

Yes, joyous cries are still heard from there that representatives of the people in Russia were poisoned by the "boyars". But we do not know what the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are poisoning with in the ATO, and we don’t need it.

The fact is that they will continue in the same spirit in the future. At least, I have not yet observed the prerequisites for a change in the situation. An army that does not want to fight humanly, because it does not live according to human laws, this is sad. One side. Not with mine, I note.

On the other hand, it is very pleasing, because the faster this corpse finally decomposes, the easier it will be to resolve some political issues.

So I sincerely wish the glorious forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to continue their difficult path of degradation and self-destruction in the new year. The groundwork for 2016 is not bad, so "you are going the right way, comrades!"
