The Russian Defense Ministry has held a single day of acceptance of military products and infrastructure of the Armed Forces. The numbers have been named, the addresses of the supply of weapons and military equipment have been indicated, which creates a complete picture of equipping our aircraft with modern models.
Over the past year, more than 3,500 promising weapons and military equipment were delivered to the army and navy. It is especially pleasing that these are highly intelligent equipment and precision weapons, which allowed the Russian Aerospace Forces to successfully fight the militants in Syria.
According to Sergei Shoigu, the state defense order in 2017 for the supply of new samples was fulfilled by 98.5 percent, for repairs - by 96.7 percent. The Minister noted: "The achieved results indicate that industrial enterprises basically fulfill their obligations."
In the fourth quarter, the troops were supplied with new and refurbished types of VVS: Iskander-M missile systems, Su-27SM3 fighters, Mi-28UB helicopters, the Admiral Makarov patrol ship and others.
According to the results of the IV quarter, the Russian Navy received 16 new and modernized ships and support vessels, other weapons and equipment. Colonel Oleg Stepanov, head of the Department of Military Representations of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, emphasized that two coastal RKs "Ball" and "Bastion", eight radars for various purposes, and 326 anti-submarine missiles were transferred to the Navy. The patrol ship of project 11356 "Admiral Makarov" was enrolled in the Navy, which was confirmed by the commander of the 128th brigade of surface ships of the Baltic Fleet, Captain 1st Rank Andrei Kuznetsov. The icebreaker of project 21180 "Ilya Muromets" joined the auxiliary fleet of the Northern Fleet. Chernomorets received the Ball tactical coastal complex.
The power of the Terminator
In 2017, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation received 116 KR operational-tactical purposes "Caliber", which showed themselves well in Syria. One hundred high-precision strikes were inflicted on the militants' targets, the Kalibr, Kh-101, Kh-55 KRBDs were used against the most important targets, the Iskander and Tochka-U missile launchers were operating. Strategic aircraft were fired by 66 rockets at a distance of 500 to 1500 kilometers. Each hit its designated target.
The RF Armed Forces have delivered over 110 aircraft and helicopters, two warships, three Iskander-M brigade sets, nine anti-aircraft missile systems and complexes of various classes, and more than 400 armored weapons.
At the beginning of last year, the "Military-Industrial Courier" supported the former head of the GABTU, Colonel-General Sergei Mayev, with his idea that the BMPT "Terminator" would be in demand among the troops ("Tank for help"). And we were heard. The contract for the supply of Terminators will be completed during 2018. The first batch will arrive in March-April, which was confirmed by Uralvagonzavod, a supplier of new equipment.
It is significant that this is the first contract of the military department for the purchase of "Terminators", previously BMPTs were exclusively an export product. How many vehicles the troops will receive is not disclosed, but the contract is long-term. Its performance is on a conveyor belt in Nizhny Tagil.
BMPT "Terminator" is armed with two 30-mm automatic cannons 2A42, two launchers with anti-tank missiles "Attack-T", two automatic grenade launchers AG-17D and 7, 62-mm machine gun. The vehicle is very mobile on the battlefield, its main armament control system allows detecting and recognizing small targets at long distances day and night in adverse weather conditions. There are three operators in the crew, this gives the BMPT a 360-degree field of view and the ability to hit three objects at the same time.
Serially and even ahead of schedule
Two brigade sets of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system (OTRK) and four air defense systems, 183 armored weapons and equipment, up to 1183 vehicles for various purposes, more than 13 thousand communications equipment, 433 electronic warfare stations were delivered to the RF Army in the IV quarter. “In 2017, the Mechanical Engineering Design Bureau completed the implementation of the state contract, delivered the tenth set of Iskander-M OTRK,” Stepanov noted.
During the CPVP, which took place in the videoconference mode, the commander of the 933rd anti-aircraft missile regiment, Colonel Andrei Elizarov, reported on the acceptance of the regimental set of the Tor-M2 air defense missile system. Colonel Sergei Muchkaev, commander of the 53rd anti-aircraft missile brigade, on the arrival of the Buk-M3 air defense system brigade kit. The pontoon fleet PP-2005M arrived to equip the engineering troops, which was confirmed by the commander of the 28th pontoon-bridge brigade Aleksey Biryukov.
In 2017, Russian Helicopters supplied the Russian Defense Ministry with 72 new and 70 modernized machines. In addition, five Mi-8MTV-5-1 were transferred to the Kazan Optical and Mechanical Plant for subsequent retrofitting with an electronic warfare system. According to the 2018 state defense order, the holding will supply the military department with about 60 new vehicles, including more than 30 Mi-8 types ahead of schedule, a representative of Russian Helicopters said. “We have begun serial deliveries of Mi-28UB combat training helicopters, mastered the modernization of the ship's Ka-27, and in 2018 another project will be added to the list - we are planning to transfer the first Mi-38T transport and landing helicopter to the RF Ministry of Defense,” said Vladislav Savelyev, deputy general director of the holding. … He stressed that in 2017, some deliveries under the state defense order were carried out ahead of schedule.
"Ball" in the Baltic
Electronic launches of the coastal missile launchers "Ball" were carried out on the Baltic coast while checking the combat readiness of the missile unit.
The calculations of the complexes made a march to the landfill. In a given area, they fulfilled the standards for the deployment of equipment, the determination of firing data for electronic launches of the KR at sea targets and their conditional defeat. The rocketeers also worked out the transfer of the complexes from the marching position to the firing position, the reloading of missiles from the transport-loading vehicle to the launcher. The operational change of positions and exit from the retaliatory strike of the conditional enemy were practiced.
The training was carried out according to the plan for checking the combat readiness of the units of the missile formation. It involved up to 50 servicemen and more than 10 units of military and special equipment. According to the results of the inspection by the inspection of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, this subdivision was given the honorary name "Shock". As for the "Ball" complex, it showed itself from the best side. Recall that this ROK is designed to protect territorial waters, naval bases and coastal infrastructure facilities and antiamphibious defense of the coast by coastal defense forces.
"Yars" on duty
In 2017, the Strategic Missile Forces received 21 ballistic missiles, 19 autonomous launchers, 33 combat duty vehicles, 7 command posts, 310 other component parts of the complexes.
Under the program for extending the warranty period of operation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as for training purposes, the missilemen carried out six launches of ICBMs. The equipment worked normally, the tasks were completed. According to the commander of the 39th missile division, Major General Pavel Burkov, the rearmament of the 357th regiment to the Yars-S mobile-based complex has been completed. Since December 2017, the unit has been on alert with three regiments equipped with Yars and Yars-S.
In the grouping of forces and means of nuclear deterrence of the Strategic Missile Forces, the loading of two silo-launchers was ensured with the stationary Yars complex in Kozelsk and the PGRK in Irkutsk.
At the 1st State Test Cosmodrome in Mirny, objects were built for carrying out throw tests of a promising stationary-based complex.
At the Space Forces facilities, the construction of two high-availability radars in Orsk and Barnaul has been completed, and technological equipment is being installed at the facilities of the space security system.
High orbits
Russian "defense engineers" have eliminated almost all production flaws in the armaments and military equipment revealed during their combat use in Syria, some models have improved operational and technical characteristics. This activity, stressed Sergei Shoigu, should continue taking into account the tasks set by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. According to the minister, the quality of the main weapons and military equipment in general meets the requirements, which allows the troops to effectively carry out the assigned tasks.
The following fact speaks volumes: in the IV quarter of 2017, the Aerospace Forces received over 160 new and refurbished aircraft. More precisely, 25 new and 78 repaired aircraft, 35 new and 29 repaired helicopters, two regimental sets of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system, 24 combat vehicles of the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and cannon complex, 112 radar stations for various purposes, more than 37 thousands of aviation weapons.
According to the first deputy director of KNAAZ, Sergei Ogarkov, after the modernization, the front-line multifunctional Su-27SM3 fighters were transferred to the troops.
On January 25, the first flight of the Tu-160M strategic bomber-missile carrier made at the Kazan Aviation Plant was performed. The technological readiness of the cooperation for the serial production of the modernized "White Swans" was confirmed.
The Space Forces performed five launches of carrier rockets in 2017. Five spacecraft were launched into orbit.
At the end of the year, the level of equipment of the RF Armed Forces with new models of weapons and military equipment increased by 1.2 percent and amounted to 59.5 percent.
