German special forces are the most modern and well-armed. This is evidenced by the latest acquisition of the German government: Water Cannon 10,000. The machine costs at least one million euros and is considered today the most modern and high-tech in its class.

The main function of the machine is to suppress riots in the streets. But if suddenly there is no work in the main specialty, that is, it also has several related ones, for example, extinguishing fires and delivering drinking water. The aluminum tank of a police water cannon holds 10 tons of water - this figure is reflected in the model name.

The car is based on the modified Mercedes-Benz Actros 3341 chassis. The car is overwhelming with its dimensions: its length is ten meters, its width is almost four, and its weight is 31 tons. This fortress on wheels is powered by a 409 hp V6 turbodiesel. with., motor technology BlueTec SCR, corresponding to Euro-5 standards.

For the convenience of passengers, the designers of the Water Cannon 10000 had to change the cabin: now it can accommodate five people. The crew consists of a driver, a squad leader, an observer and an operator who operates a water cannon. The cabin has climate control and a fridge for drinks.

The truck cost the government one million euros, while the price of the original Mercedes-Benz Actros 3341 tractor is about 100 thousand euros. The most expensive part of the car is additional special equipment: a pump with a capacity of more than 60 liters per second, a swivel barrel of a water cannon that "shoots" at 60 meters, a video camera with a 360-degree view, nozzles under the bottom (for extinguishing the combustible mixture that has fallen under the chassis), and, of course, round-trip booking for a high class of protection.

The fabulous cost of the novelty does not stop the German government. The technology that the German special forces have at their disposal has long been outdated. Used machines Wasserwerfer 9000 (abbreviated WaWe) were purchased in the late seventies and look very modest by modern standards. Therefore, the government is expected to purchase several more Water Cannon 10,000 in the near future.

Democratizers

In Russia, a variety of techniques are used to suppress riots. Until recently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs had at its disposal about a dozen units: Israeli-made Makhtaz water cannons and Russian-made Avalanche-Hurricane. Now this technique is considered outdated, so the government recently decided to start the production of new, more advanced models of water cannons in the Kurgan region. Now they are assembling a clumsy "Louvre" on the basis of a "Ural" car with a tank for nine thousand liters of water, a more nimble "Storm" based on "KamAZ" and a small "Fountain" on the basis of "Gazelle".

And the birthplace of armored water cannons is Germany. The first such car appeared in 1931, with its help the police dispersed unemployed demonstrators on the streets of Berlin. The first water cannon was built on the basis of a Mercedes truck and was a hybrid of a sprinkler and an armored car. A water tank was located at the back of the car, and the cab was sheathed with steel sheets for protection. A revolving turret with a water cannon towered on the body. After Hitler came to power, crowd disperse vehicles disappeared from the police arsenal, as did protest demonstrations from the streets. True, as soon as Germany after the war was divided into East and West, the water cannons immediately returned.
