At the last forum "Technologies in mechanical engineering 2012" JSC "Vega" for the first time presented one of its own initiative-developed projects - a control room under the code "Rosehip-Aero" to provide radio monitoring and blocking of detected remote control channels of aircraft solutions.
Rosevnik-Aero includes:
- basic set of equipment;
- control equipment;
- communication equipment;
- power supply system;
- life supporting system;
- a set of equipment for external deployment.
The basic complex includes the following solutions:
- workstation of the automated monitoring operator;
- radio monitoring equipment operating in the range from 25 to 2500 MHz;
- direction-finding receiving AFS antenna-feeder system;
- equipment of a complex for radio suppression of radio transmissions of remote control of aircraft in the ranges of 25-100 / 400-500 / 800-925 / 2400-2485 MHz;
- equipment of a complex for radio suppression of detected signals from navigation equipment for users of a radio navigation satellite system (GPS);
- AFS transmitting at frequencies 25-80 / 400-500 / 800-925 / 2400-2485 MHz with a given azimuth beamwidth.
The main purpose of the “Rosehip-Aero” is blocking by radio suppression of the detected channels of remotely controlled aircraft, to stop their action (work) over the control room's area of responsibility.
Main functions:
- automated search, detection, identification (determination) of remote control radio signals of aircraft;
- formation and classification of detected radio signals;
- interception of radio signals and their analysis;
- determination of all characteristics of the control channel of the remote control of aircraft;
- three methods of radio suppression in the complex: blocking the navigation channel by jamming the GPS field; suppression of remote control of aircraft by direct method; taking control of aircraft remote control (introduction of correction into the control channel);
The set of external unfolding equipment includes:
- remote automated work place for monitoring;
- radio monitoring equipment operating in the range from 25 to 2500 MHz;
- direction-finding receiving AFS antenna-feeder system;
- equipment of a complex for radio suppression of radio transmissions of remote control of aircraft in the ranges of 25-100 / 400-500 / 800-925 / 2400-2485 MHz;
- AFS transmitting at frequencies 25-80 / 400-500 / 800-925 / 2400-2485 MHz with a given azimuth beamwidth.
- equipment for providing data transmission and reception between the base and the remote complex of the equipment.
"Rosehip-Aero" is an equipment for fighting UAVs, TV and radio broadcasting stations, communication command posts, stations (modules) of cellular and other networks. The control room provides both broadband and narrow-band suppression of signals and frequencies, distortion of the transmitted information by the source. In the latter case, the fight is not with the source, but with the receiver of the information.
It takes about 25 seconds to counteract drones, from the moment of detection to suppression (signal interception). With known operating frequencies of the control signal of the drone, it takes no more than a second to counteract. Most of the time is spent on processing, collecting and analyzing information on the detected UAV, the suppression (interception) itself is performed instantly. The developers continue to work on reducing the UAV response time and promise to significantly reduce it.
Modern UAVs with a loss of a control signal are provided with a program to return to the launch point. Rosehip Aero prevents program execution by setting a false navigation field with the replacement of dynamic coordinates. The UAV, guided by them, goes to a given point in the control room. The time when the navigation field was created.
The proactive development of "Rosehip Aero" did not allow testing the control room to counter a real UAV. At the moment, the control room mainly counteracted the UAV according to the presented technical parameters of the Ministry of Defense. It is also known that some tests were carried out at the Voronezh test site.
According to the developers, "Rosehip Aero" will be able to work both stationary and in motion. With the help of a set of remote equipment "Rosehip Aero" increases the ability to accurately determine the aircraft on two bearings.
Main characteristics:
- bearing - accuracy 2-3 degrees;
- deployment of the control room - no more than 40 minutes;
- calculation - 3 people (driver and operators).
