The TITUS armored vehicle (Tactical Infantry Transport and Utility System), created by Nexter, is being tested in two unnamed Gulf countries. Vice President of Marketing Denis Pinoto said that the test armored personnel carrier TITUS 6x6 is being tested in one of the Gulf countries since the beginning of April. The APC is expected to move to a second country in the region in the second half of the year.

Agreements to ship the machine to the two countries were signed in February after TITUS was first presented at DSEI in September 2013.

Pinoto also confirmed that a second TITUS machine is being manufactured, which will be equipped with a more powerful 500 hp engine. It is clear that this will be just a modification.

He said the vehicle will be completed later this year, and the inclusion of any additional modifications will be based on test results in the Persian Gulf. The Nexter team accompanies the vehicle to assist with testing and data collection.

With a base weight of 17 tons, the TITUS vehicle has a combat weight of 23 tons, but with an additional payload of 4 tons, it can reach 27 tons. The armored personnel carrier has a width of 2, 55 m, a height of 2, 73 m and a length of 7, 55 m, an internal volume of 14, 4 m3, which makes it possible to implement various layout solutions of the internal compartments.

The capacity of the storage compartments is 2.4 m3 inside and 1.5 m3 outside, the modular concept of the machine and its electronic architecture allows the installation of additional protection from STANAG Level 2 to STANAG Level 4 on the base APC.
