For some time now, at the Solnechnogorsk training center, snipers have been trained to work with the Steyr Mannliher rifle, which is then sent to the place of service for a graduate of the center.
The Steyr-Mannlicher SSG 04 sniper rifle has a longitudinally sliding rotary bolt with four lugs located in pairs at the front of the bolt. High-precision barrels are cold rotary forged and equipped with a muzzle brake. The trigger mechanism is adjustable, triggering without warning. Cartridges are fed from detachable box magazines. The rifle stock is made of impact-resistant polymer and has a height-adjustable butt comb and butt pad. The rifle does not have open sights; a Picatinny rail is installed on the receiver, allowing quick and accurate installation of any optical and night sights on the appropriate mounts.
Straight on target
The Picattini rail is built into the top of the receiver and makes it easy to mount a variety of optical devices or other sights on the STEYR SSG 04.
Pure ergonomics
To meet the shooter's individual needs, the durable synthetic stock features an adjustable trigger-to-back butt pad and an adjustable cheek piece. The adjustable cheek piece is especially useful when using riflescopes / optical electronics with different bracket heights.
Expanding shooting capabilities
The unique SBS 96 bolt protection system, as well as the expansion of firing capabilities with the set for increasing the magazine capacity (10, respectively 8 rounds) are ideally combined in the SSG 04.
