Observing what is happening in our armed forces, it turned out to raise such a moment as training in a "related" specialty. For all who gave their due amount of life to the troops, terms such as "gunner-radio operator", "driver-gunner" and others are nothing new. It was, is, and, I hope, will be.
Communicating a number of years ago with my friends who came from the army, I regretted the following thing: many who served in the artillery, missile forces, communications, said that the machine gun was held a couple of times during its entire service life: KMB (with mandatory shooting 3 -5 rounds), oath, a couple of field exits. The proper possession of personal weapons was out of the question at all.
But today we will not talk about this problem, if any. On the contrary, I would like to talk about the part where this is in complete order. As an example.
We got to the training sessions of the 488th Missile Brigade. The classes were not ostentatious, when high authorities and a bunch of federal TV channels were present. There was only us. That is, they observed something that was not intended for wide coverage, but was carried out as an educational and training process.
It should be noted that the 488th Brigade is considered the best in our 20th Army and one of the best in the district. And the example of the workflow in the brigade is worth learning a lot more.
I was convinced that rocket scientists are not ordinary people when I filmed the preparation of fireworks crews in April. There was little material about this, it is surprising that not artillerymen, but rocket men were engaged in fireworks and salutes. Related specialty.
But it turned out that the brigade also properly treats the training of personnel in terms of the possession of personal weapons. The driver is obliged to be a shooter - helmet, armor, machine gun - and to the firing line. It is worth in the column "specialty" the position of "TZM-grenade launcher driver" - be so kind as to hit the target with an RPG grenade. By the way, they get there.
The essence of what is happening is simple. As Comrade Major, who was in charge of the RPG firing, explained to me, it is supposed that the drivers of TPM and other vehicles, in the event of moving to the line, perform the role of combat escort, while the rest of the personnel are busy preparing for the launch - that means we will teach and train.
They both teach and train. I was convinced in practice.
By the way, with considerable surprise I saw women returning from the firing lines. I asked the fighter: who is this? "And this is a medical unit headed by a psychologist," was the answer.
But the most interesting thing was at the end, when the brigades brought six buses of pre-conscripts to the training ground. And the fighters instantly retrained into shooting instructors and snail drivers. The screams became louder and louder, and the snails were really running around.
But let's start in order.

Further, in principle, everything is pretty monotonous. But loud.
Some go there, others go back.

By the way, about the targets. He asked a stupid question why they shoot not at the armor. The answer was simple: where to get it in the missile unit? We tried to display old trucks, but they end after two hits. Remove scrap metal longer. So it's easier on the layout. And less hemorrhoids.
I really wanted to catch a beautiful shot. The shooting went on, we gradually stalled, but somewhere in the thirtieth shot we were lucky:

And then they brought the pre-conscripts …
If in general, then, despite some deafness, obtained in close communication with the RPG, satisfaction took place. It's nice to see how they are engaged in combat training in a normal combat unit. And it is especially pleasant to understand that this combat training is not the main specialty. But diversity is also a necessary thing.
The brigade will soon celebrate its 30th anniversary. We will definitely attend. And if you are really lucky, then in the fall we will witness live firing. Not from machine guns and grenade launchers, of course.
