The Aerospace Forces of Russia, led by its commander-in-chief, Colonel-General, Hero of Russia Viktor Bondarev, successfully carried out another successful operation. This time the Aerospace Forces "captured" the hearts of Siberians. The support of the Aerospace Forces was carried out by ground forces in the person of the 242 training center of the Airborne Forces, the Omsk branch of the Military Academy of Logistics, higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation, units and subdivisions of the garrison. In addition, the border troops of the FSB of the Russian Federation, cadets of the Omsk Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, military-patriotic clubs and movements of the Omsk region took part in the operation. In addition to combat aircraft, local small aviation units were also used.
The result of the operation was the appeal of almost half a thousand young people to specially deployed points on the issues of admission to higher educational institutions, admission to contract service in the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. The officers who worked at these points practically did not sit still. So great was the influx of people who wanted to know the details about their units, educational institutions, conditions of service.
I especially note the personal participation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Hero of Russia, Colonel-General Viktor Bondarev and Governor of the Omsk Region Viktor Nazarov. Despite the treacherous Siberian weather, snow and wind, more than 100,000 people supported the operation. And this is only at the venue. And given that the Aerospace Forces operated practically in the center of the city, we can safely speak of a million people.
I deliberately started reporting in the style of official news. Not because I wanted originality. Just delight from the air show, which was shown by the Russian Aerospace Forces in Omsk, is too fresh. Siberians are not often pampered with such events. For the millionth Omsk, this is generally the first experience.
The organizers clearly did not expect such interest. More than 100,000 people came to the Irtysh embankment alone, which was the center of the whole event. Almost every tenth is Omsk! It is simply physically impossible to fit there anymore. And considering that people came by cars, the city "stood up". Traffic jams of 8-10 points for 2 hours. The drivers just got out of their cars and watched the show.
And there was something to see. "Russian Knights" on their Su-27 showed everything! Well, or almost everything. There were so many ovation after each flight that any artist would envy.
We talk a lot about patriotic education. We develop programs. We write articles and books. And it is right. But yesterday I saw a completely different approach. Truly army.
Here is a tank, here is a BMD, here is a fire engine, here is a rescue vehicle from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, here is a hovercraft. And here is a temporary border control point. And tracking equipment. See, try it in action. Talk to an officer or soldier. Here they are. Do you want to feel like an artilleryman? Here's a howitzer. The fighters will be happy to "pull the cord".
Do you want to know what soldier's food is? There are several field kitchens. Go get your ration and eat. Like a soldier. By the way, the soldiers who were involved in the event also ate there. This is where you had to look. Mothers of soldiers or future soldiers were very surprised why the guys, with all the loads, gain weight in six months. The food is like that.
Someone might say - banality. They do it on all shows. Agree. But it's all about an integrated approach and the lack of emphasis on something specific. See what interests you.
Sadly as it is to realize this, the army today for many is the only social lift that can help change their social status, solve housing problems, and give a decent salary. The hinterland of Russia lives more complex than the center. And it is very important that the military understands this. It is in the outback that you can find those who want to serve. Those who will serve "conscientiously".
Incidentally, this is one of the options for solving the problem of single-industry towns. The army also has the ability to move manpower reserves across regions. Moreover, without investing special funds in it. There are enough of those that go to the creation of military camps.
I can't say today how many guys will tie their lives in the army after the event. And no one can. Someone will change their mind. Someone for health will not be able to become an officer. Some just won't pass the exam. But I am sure that such young people will be. This means that such events are needed. When you see what the aces can do with a 30-ton vehicle, you involuntarily feel pride for our army, for our country, for our people.
