Without thinking too long, we decided that thanks to our established good relations with the press service of the Western Military District, we were quite ripe to make a new cycle of materials. And it's very simple to call it, but tastefully: "Army-2016". Because all materials will be devoted to the processes taking place in our army.
Exercises, army competitions, which are now called contests, and so on.
The beginning, in principle, was laid with a visit to the qualifying competitions of the air defense crews of the ZVO. The continuation was the material about the training of fireworks artillerymen. And here is the third report this year.
On the goodwill of the press service, representatives of Voennoye Obozreniye and TK Zvezda attended the final stage of the competition for army intelligence officers of the Western Military District. This was the last qualifying competition, as a result of which the best teams will take part in the final, which will be held in Novosibirsk this summer. There will be fighting for the title of the best representatives of the intelligence services of all districts.
Intelligence is a delicate structure. And this has put a lot of restrictions on us. Many (and many) cannot be filmed at once for a bunch of reasons. To mention who is from where - too. But this is all quite understandable, and the fact that the brilliance of the material suffered a little did not in any way detract from what we witnessed. And there was something to see. More precisely, to whom.
On the day when we arrived at the test site of one of the units of the Western Military District, the next stage took place there. Namely, the "Scout's Trail" exercise. Who does not know, I will explain. It's like an obstacle course, only more varied, more sadistic and passed by a team. That is, a branch.
We walked this path with the participants several times, however, only in the horizontal plane.

Bridge in difficult visibility conditions. And breathing. A very generous person was in charge of special effects at the training ground. A whole squad of fighters worked for him, tirelessly carrying tires on the track, then bringing him boxes of smoke. In general, fresh air at the landfill ran out very quickly.

But, by the way, the gas masks came in handy, because the nachkhim regularly threw smoke bombs into the underground passage.
It will be four days to find out who will win this competition. And the winner will not receive an award, but the right to plow even more in order to meet the best of the best in the summer.
A worthy task for real men.
Having passed more than once (just passing, following the group, then running from the side, then overtaking), we assessed the level of training of our scouts. And, frankly, special forces are, of course, cool, we will not argue here. But intelligence is power!
