Gone are the days when entering a military school was the dream of every school graduate. The competition for one academic place sometimes reached 35-40 people, and this is not the most prestigious university. Today's young people consider military service not only not prestigious, but rather hopeless. We have to admit that they are partly right. What can the army provide for young officers?

A young lieutenant who has just graduated from a military school upon arrival at his permanent duty station is a real headache for the unit commander. After all, a young officer needs to be provided with housing, and where to get it, if the construction of houses for the army is at such a low level that we can say that it is rather not there than it is. So the defender of the homeland has to languish for many years in the narrow walls of hostels or rent an apartment. It is practically impossible to save money to buy your own home, taking into account low wages.

But housing is not all the “joys” that await a young officer upon arrival at the unit. As a rule, in a military school, cadets learn about the passage of further service from textbooks, which colorfully and in detail describe all the conditions in which they will have to continue serving. From the books, future generals will learn what it is - office work, secrecy and how to properly organize the conduct of classes with subordinates. Yes, everything seems simple in textbooks, but in real life the first thing that stands in the way of carrying out the same theoretical studies is the lack of basic stationery, the officer simply has nothing to write with. How can knowledge be passed on to young soldiers if there is no material base for this? No one will dispute the fact that our army possesses the most advanced weapons, but why forget about those people who should operate these weapons. How can you explain to a young soldier the device of this or that technical device without keeping a summary of the basic data. So it turns out that the officer has useful knowledge, and it becomes a problem to transfer it to the soldiers. By the way, it is necessary to remember about the main strength of the army - the soldiers. In recent years, one can hear expressions from all sides that only mentally retarded young people serve in the army, who are unable to evade service. If you believe these statements, then a small group of inferior soldiers under the leadership of poor officers is responsible for our safety. But is it really so? Yes, the army does not serve the so-called "golden youth", which is protected from the army by the thick wallets of their parents; ordinary Russian guys serve in the army, who believe in their state and pay their debt to the Motherland for them a question of honor.

But how to restore faith in the army to young people, what should be done so that a graduate of the school proudly declares - I am entering a military school!

This is impossible until the government accepts the fact that even perfect weapons in the army will be just a piece of expensive metal without people to control it. Building houses with apartments for the military, raising wages, creating a material base are important steps that can return the lost prestige to military service.
