The former commander of the USSR Airborne Forces, General Vladislav Achalov, applied to hold a crowded rally on Poklonnaya Hill. The event should be attended by about 10,000 veterans of the paratroopers and the Cossacks who joined them. Achalov is convinced that the authorities will not dare to refuse them, hinting in every possible way that these are still flowers.

Rumors of an impending coup immediately spread. It is clear that no riot police will not stop airborne troops, and they will be afraid to enter tanks into Moscow: in the army, the reputation of "dwarfs" and "furniture maker" resembles the soiled pants of a cheeky teenager yesterday, and today - a frightened teenager to death. That is, even if tanks are moved to the capital, it is not yet clear which direction this vehicle will turn in a minute. So the police will have to persuade the heated veterans: remember how it happens every year on the day of the paratrooper.

Militant sentiments are fueled by conversations in the ranks: allegedly the Kremlin is hastily withdrawing capital abroad and sending relatives to the saving foreign country, packing their suitcases at double speed. The atmosphere is also heated by the strange death of the chairman of the Supreme Officers' Council of Russia, retired Lieutenant-General Grigory Dubrov. He died yesterday under unclear circumstances …

The general background of the rebellious news is reminiscent of a compilation of patriotic and great-power slogans: "It's time to save Mother Russia," "We won't give the Fatherland to be torn apart by enemy adversaries," and so on. The classic appeal "Russia for Russians" is missing. However, he will surely soar above the banners that glow on the "red day of the calendar", from which the day runs the risk of acquiring a completely bloody color.

Violence breeds violence. But the authorities spat on the military for so long (in fact, on everyone) that the mass demonstration of the “keepers of the glorious army traditions” seems quite logical today. And the more panic grips the inhabitants of the Kremlin, the more hysteria is whipped up on the eve of hot events. You cannot rob and humiliate the citizens of your own country indefinitely; the officers cannot be trampled into the mud with impunity: sooner or later a reaction of rejection will follow. And in Russia it always led to a terrible meat grinder.

At this point, as they say - God forbid!..
