The fact that Russia is a leader not only in the production of weapons and military equipment, but also for civilian purposes is confirmed by the interest of many countries in the world in Russian equipment to meet internal needs. So it became known that China is showing interest in purchasing a new modernized Mi-34S1 helicopter from Russia, this became known from the statement of the Deputy Director of the Marketing Department of the Russian Helicopters holding Viktor Yegorov.
The statement was made during the opening of the AirShow Airshow 2011. Egorov pointed out that in China today the need for light helicopters for corporate and private transportation has sharply increased. First of all, this is due to the fact that there are enough rich people in China who can afford such a purchase.
The modified Mi-34S1 presented at the exhibition is still preparing for mass production, which is scheduled for 2012. Viktor Egorov briefly described the improvements that have been made to the existing model. “We modernized it, installed a boosted engine, changed a number of systems, modified the airframe design, installed more modern avionics. Naturally, we consider China as one of the key markets”.
Egorov also pointed out that the Mi-34S1 is not the only helicopter that the Chinese are interested in. Heavy helicopters Mi-26 are of no less interest to China. Three of these machines are already in operation in the country and proved to be excellent in the aftermath of the earthquake in Sichuan province. The most popular helicopters in China are multipurpose helicopters such as the Mi-8 and Mi-171.
Due to the increased interest in Russian helicopters, a joint venture will be established in China by the end of the year to provide servicing of helicopter equipment. The enterprise will be called Sino-Russian Helicopter Service Company and its main office will be located in Qingdao city.
Holding experts point out that the Mi-34S1, due to its technical parameters, has a chance to become the most demanded in the world of sports aviation.
The light Mi-34S1 helicopter is specially designed for use as the main carrier for corporations and individuals, as well as for the initial training of pilots who will be involved during terrain monitoring or medical evacuation purposes.
The helicopter is designed to carry 4-5 people at a full load of 350 kilograms for a distance of up to 610 kilometers. The aircraft is equipped with an M9FV engine with a capacity of 365 hp, which allows it to reach a maximum speed of 215 km / h and maintain a static ceiling of 1375 meters.
