Having completed a combined march (tanks by rail, wheeled vehicles - on their own), the regiment by 24:00 on October 2, 1956 went to the Beregovo region in readiness to assist the Hungarian people in suppressing the counter-revolutionary rebellion. 1957 to 1967

The 100th tank regiment did not take part in campaigns and battles.

1968 year

On May 7, 1968, the regiment was raised on alert, received 170 personnel from the reserve, and made a combined march with 31 armored divisions.

On May 9, 1968, by 18:00, he concentrated in the area of Uzhgorod, the village of Korytnyany, Transcarpathian region, where he put the equipment in order and began training in combat and political training.

On August 20, 1968, at 23:00, the regiment was raised on alert and received the task at 2:00 on August 21, 1968 to cross the Czechoslovak state border in the area of Uzhgorod to provide fraternal assistance to the Czechoslovak people in the fight against counter-revolutionary elements. The regiment, fulfilling the assigned task, crossed the state border in the area of Uzhgorod, made a march along the Mikhailovtsy - Zhilina route.

From 1969 to 1990, 100 tp as part of the 31st Guards TD was located on the territory of Czechoslovakia.

In connection with the agreements on reducing the number of troops in Eastern Europe in 1990, the regiment was redeployed to the city of Dzerzhinsk, Gorky region.

Since 1969, the 100th tank regiment did not take part in campaigns and battles.

In accordance with the directive of the General Staff of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, in 2009, on the basis of a 100 tank regiment, a 6 separate tank brigade was formed.

A tank brigade is a shock fist acting in the interests of a senior commander and designed to deliver counterstrikes.

The brigade is armed with T-80BV tanks. They are already quite old, but, apparently, will not be replaced until the start of deliveries of the new Armata tank. This is just my guess, but it is the most logical.

The photo shows the T-80 of the RUBViT company (a company of training and combat weapons and equipment) at the brigade's tank training center. The RUBViT company allows saving the resource of the combat group vehicles, because these vehicles are intended solely for training and are not removed from battalions

They asked if they were practicing firing an anti-aircraft machine gun. They are working out. But if you have to shoot from it, then, most likely, at ground targets. NSVT is good in mountainous and wooded areas, in urban areas

Image
Image

31.

We no longer walk like a tank, there is enough fuel to work out tasks normally, and there is no need to save ammunition either. Separately, I was pleased with the communication with conscripts, tk. they were happy to say that they were engaged often, constantly on equipment, regular shooting. The entire crew is trained in interchangeability. Tank guided missiles are also fired.

I remember that you asked about the types of shells used in the brigade, but this is not the kind of information that it is possible to write. The FSB department in the unit works so well that even completely unclassified things they often refused to tell me. The first time I encountered such total observance of state secrets.

There was a question about the fighting at night. Since the T-80BV is not equipped with thermal imagers, a full-fledged battle at night is possible only with the regular hanging of lighting shells by an artillery battalion over the site of a clash.

Preparations for battles in urban areas are being carried out.

There are no personal protective equipment such as tank body armor and armored helmets in the brigade yet.

The artillerymen of the brigade, by the way, shoot with guided shells. Which ones are not commanded to say (secret!), But for "Msta" it is easily googled;)

Image
Image

32.

I was given a lot of photographs from the exercises, but, unfortunately, our troops are not equipped with good cameras, so people used simple soap dishes. As a result, for example, photos of the firing of a jet battalion look like this:

I learned a lot about the cultural life in the fields. For example, for each battalion such equipment is issued for receiving and broadcasting radio broadcasts. Two speakers, an external antenna (which is a disadvantage of the product, since it does not provide reliable reception in the field). You can listen to radio, including FM radio stations, you can put mp3-discs, or connect a USB flash drive with music via USB

Image

88.

Different radios are issued for each platoon.

Such

89.

Such

Image

90.

And such

Image
Image

91.

They can be installed in the location where you live, or used in the field. It remains only to reconsider the issue of the material responsibility of the unit commanders who are reluctant to use these radios because they will not pat on the head for a breakdown. In general, this is a long-standing disease in our army, when the option is chosen "to use it less often, if only it does not break, otherwise it will fly in." In my opinion, it's time to come to the conclusion that "this is a technique and it will inevitably break someday."

Well, this equipment can be used both for showing films and for field concerts of the brigade ensemble (about it in the next part)

Image
Image

92.

Let's go back to the training with the personnel. The brigade has simulators, which are currently located in the basement under the dormitory barracks. The construction of the educational building was frozen in 2008, half way. Now it looks like this

I hope the funds will be found and it will be completed.

There are also other simulators, for example, for operators of the Shturm-S complexes of anti-tank battalions, but they were located in another town (the brigade is located in two towns), and it was not possible to remove them.

It was equipment and combat training in the 6th tank brigade.
