At the end of last week, on the website of the press service of the Eastern District, a material was published about the successful execution of live firing by a special task unit of a brigade of ships for the protection of the coastal area. The shots were fired from the coastal PDRBK DP-62 "Dam" and grenade launchers DP-61 "Duel". Combat tests of the anti-sabotage weapons of the special forces were carried out in order to practice practical actions of using special weapons, during the firing the standards for the preparation of weapons and destruction of enemy targets were met, as well as the combat coordination of the calculations of the DP-62 "Dam" complexes.
Ammunition launches from the coastal PDRBK DP-62 "Dam" were carried out with incomplete volleys and single launches. The firing range depended on the task and was 1.5-5 kilometers. The total number of ammunition fired is 49 units. The DP-61 "Duel" grenade launchers were fired at a conventional enemy (combat swimmer) at a distance of 150 meters. The head of combat firing, Captain 2nd Rank M. Shinkevich, noted that all the standards were worked out by the unit's personnel for an excellent assessment, all the targets set were hit.
Coastal PDRBK DP-62 "Dam"
The self-propelled coastal complex is designed to destroy enemy sabotage assets and forces and is designed to defeat enemy midget submarines and underwater sabotage detachments. The purpose of the PDRBK DP-62 "Dam" is to provide anti-sabotage defense in specially protected coastal areas, at the basing points and anchorage of surface ships.
The main developer of the TulGosNIITochMash anti-sabotage complex, today known as the Tula FSUE GNPP Splav. Work on the creation of the PDRBK DP-62 "Dam" began in accordance with the decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of 1969-31-12 No.999-362. Since 1972, various tests of the new complex have been carried out. In the creation of a new type of weapons, the designers used materials for the creation of MLRS for ground units Grad / Grad1. In 1980, work on the DP-62 complex was completed. The complex was adopted by the Soviet Navy by Orders of the USSR Ministry of Defense No. 0257. The main manufacturer of the Damba complex is the Perm enterprise Motovilikhinskiye Zavody.
The structure of the "Dam" complex:
- unguided RS PRS-60 caliber 122 mm;
- mobile PU BM-21PD;
- transportation vehicle 95ТМ;
- a set of TO 95TO;
- operational documentation;
- the "Dam" complex is interfaced with an autonomous hydroacoustics station or a station in the coastal defense system.
Uncontrolled RS PRS-60
Purpose - the destruction of midget submarines and underwater sabotage detachments of the enemy, by detonating a high-explosive warhead at a depth of 3 to 200 meters. The weight of the high-explosive charge of the warhead is 20 kilograms. The original tip of the PRS-60 warhead provided the complex with firing at targets without ricochet from the water surface. The DP-62's defeat range is 5 kilometers, the dead zone is 300 meters. The RS PRS-60 includes a 238M (95V) fuse, developed by the Leningrad Research Institute "Poisk". In the transport vehicle, the fuses are transported separately from the rockets. For practice shooting, the training and training RS PRS-60UT was made.
BM-21PD mobile launcher
BM-21PD is intended for the production of missile launches. Shooting is made from 40 guides with one, several shells or all ammunition. As a chassis, trucks with increased cross-country ability are used - gasoline URAL-375D or diesel URAL-4320. BM-21PD due to the fact that PDRBK DP-62 "Dam" was created on the basis of MLRS "GRAD", has full unification with its mobile launcher BM-21. The machine comes with a rectifier unit with a filter, so the BM-21PD has the ability to fire from its own electric drives, as well as from any mains line with a voltage of 380V through a rectifier. The shells are fired from the BM-21PD cockpit or by wire from any shelter. The set of the machine also includes a single spare parts and accessories, other types of spare parts are supplied in accordance with the established standards.
Conveying machine 95TM
The machine is intended for transportation, delivery and supply of shells to a combat vehicle, storage of fuses and shells. For transportation / storage of shells, a unified rack kit 9F37M is installed in the transport vehicle, which consists of two racks for 40 shells. The modernized URAL truck became the base for the car.
Set TO 95TO
The kit is intended for routine storage and storage of shells in storage facilities of bases and arsenals. In addition, there is training equipment for the preparation and training of calculations of the coastal PDRBK DP-62

Additional Information:
Since 1998, the complex has been allowed to be exported. For deliveries abroad, the “anti-sabotage” one is removed from the name of the complex and the code “DP-62E” is assigned. All differences in the export version are governed by the norms for the export performance of weapons and military equipment.
